B9 Milltek exhaust owners in UK

Hi folks,

Are there any B9 RS4 owners that have a Milltek exhaust (non-res or Road+) in the Yorkshire area or North of England? I am thinking of getting a Road+ fitted, I've listened to various YouTube videos of both but they don't give you a true idea of how the exhaust will sound. Looking to meet up with someone who has one fitted so I can hear it in person before making the decision. Would be a great help!

I've not heard the Milltek, but mine has a Remus exhaust on and it's very lovely.

Hi Jamie,

The Remus sounds pretty good on videos, where abouts are you located?

I'm in Shropshire, so a bit of a trek from your neck of the woods I'm afraid!

I'm quite interested in the Remus. Read reports of Milltek's rattling and some where they just flat out dont work the valved dont work which doesnt scream build quality. Do you have the non-res with downpipe & did you need to do any modifications on the car to accomdate it, is there any drone in comfort mode on the motorway?

It was fitted when I bought the car so I'm not 100% on the configuration, but I'm pretty sure it's just the cat-back. I keep meaning to jack it up and get a proper look at it.

In comfort mode it's very refined, no drone to speak of and with valves closed its not even very loud outside the car. Valves open and engine warm, pops and bangs at will :)

Slightly off topic but how did you find Redline to deal with Ben ?

My experience was ‘mixed’ shall we say !

An alternative would be to get the existing exhaust modified - my current F3 RSQ3 was modded by Paul @ PCW near Milton Keynes. He removes the exhaust from the car, opens the silencer boxes from the top (invisible when fitted back to the car), rearranges the internals and welds back up again. So in my case I have a much better sound (deep rumble) at idle low revs around town and something completely mental when the valves are open at higher revs.

I also have (and would recommend) a Cete AVC - exhaust valve controller which enables control of the valves. Open by default in Dynamic, but can be reversed with a double press of the ESC switch, also in all the other Drive Select Modes the valve can be opened/closed at will using the ESC switch.

That sounds great! Have you got a video of the sound by any chance?
