Hi,

Over the last month my exhaust has been behaving oddly. When in Comfort (quiet) it seems to cycle in and out of Dynamic (loud) with no relation to speed or throttle input. So it is quiet for 5 miles, then drones for 10 and then goes back to being quiet.

I have checked the valve operation at the outlets at the back and both seem to work properly at tick over (open in Dynamic and shut in Comfort).

I have contacted my dealer who is not sure what is going on - and has never heard of it before - and wants to see the car and connect up to their computer. I have booked it in (the car has a 5 year extended warranty from new and I am hoping the exhaust is covered).

In the meantime has anyone else had this happen?

And are the valves under the control of an ECU that may be faulty?

Found the problem. N/S flap is opening and shutting every few secs. Possibly a poor connection somewhere, or a knackered valve. At least I can point the dealer at the fault
