How much can an oil change cost?

In my case my friendly local Audi dealer quoted me £324!!
On further enquiry the Oil and filters are £123 and the rest labour, when pressed I was told they will perform safety checks too, which they later admitted were actually FOC... but they will fill my washer bottle up for me!! Whilst I really can’t be bothered to change it myself (gone are the days I enjoyed removing a gritty sump plug whilst lying under an Astra GTE!) it goes against the grain to be ripped off just because they think.... got an RS4 that’ll be x3 on the bill sir.

Any recommendations in the Midlands who might be more “ reasonable”

For a 1st service at an Audi dealer that sounds about right.

Vastec in Warwick- https://www.vastec.co.uk/ are very good - they have done a few jobs for me and most recently installed a Cete AVC.

It was just for an OIL change not a service, I’ve done 2000 miles in 10 months and it has to go in for a software update and they said they could change the oil whilst it’s in LOL

Ask them if you can supply your own oil.
I tend to do that, buying it from the parts department and leaving it in the car when I drop off for a service.
Not all dealers will allow it though.

The 1st service is an oil change and a few checks, that's it. As has been suggested you can supply the oil - some dealers will fill your containers with old oil for you to dispose of at the the local tip (usually a section for oil). Those swanky dealership premises have to be paid for somehow £100+ hour labour rates count towards it.

That's quite the thread revival...

For a recent figure though, this week I had Jardine motors try to get me to book a "full" service for £490. That full service is an oil change and an air filter change. The person trying to get me to book didn't understand the concept of service intervals on any other parts like spark plugs etc.

While I would like to keep the Audi stamp, they didn't fill me with any confidence so I'm leaning towards taking it to MidlandVW instead.

I can recommend Vastec in Warwick - Unit 5 Lock Lane, Warwick CV34 5AG · 01926 259130. My RS has the factory 5 year/90,000 warranty so I'm minded to get the 'proper' services done by the dealer (Stratford Audi in my case) but for mechanical sympathy I have the oil and filter changed, by Vastech at 9,000 miles after each dealer service.

The MyAudi App will tell you what needs doing and when including plugs, brake fluid change etc.
