New MIB3 on MY21

Car delivered end of June, I’ve just read that my2021 cars should have MIB3 installed.
Apart from blaming Audi which not only is presenting a FL every 2 years, but is also changing so much between one MY and the other, does anyone know if MIB3 is retrofittable?
I’m afraid I know the answer: probably the Hardware has changed.
The only real things I need is a different RS head up display graphic and the apple CarPlay wireless connection which my MIB2 high doesn’t have.

Aren’t 2020 models already MIB3?

MIB stands for Modularen Infotainment Baukasten which is self explanatory and MIB3 is the replacement for MIB2

Modularen Infotainment Baukasten = Translated by Google means Modular Infotainment Kit - further Googling turns up this:
https://www.jdpower.com/Cars/Shopping-G ... audi-mib-3
This article has all the US stuff in it like Sirus - would appear to be the same set up as that I have in my RSQ3 - which is very fast. Using the 'Drive to' command it evidently uses the internet to best-guess the intended destination and it is uncannily accurate too. I thought the B9.5 in UK had this system already?

yes, the RS4 B9.5 (FL MY 2020) has already the MIB3.
But those genius in Inglostadt had the great idea of upgrading again the hardware from my understanding. So MY20 is MIB3.0 let's say, while MY21 is MIB3.1.
It doesn't change a lot (nothing at interior lvl) but it appears to be faster, it has an additional cockpit view (Standard, RS, *another_one*), the Sirius thing mentioned by @RS4John, and it permits to open Apple Car Play/Android Auto without having to connect the phone physically to the car.
The other annoying thing I'm afraid of, but have to check, is that they may have eventually changed the hated head-up display graphic with the lap timer always on when in RS mode (pls see the other topic).
I asked to my local Audi dealer and no upgrade are possible from early communications.
I'm not a geek, and the reason I bought this car is not the Audi Media System (which I believe had its high with the MIB2+ however). While driving I completely forget about infotainment.
But in 2020, selling a 100K Euro/GBP with a piece of hardware+software that cannot be upgraded by the customer (OTA) or at the dealer, neither paying for it!, with a product life-cycle of less than 12 months it's not acceptable. We don't ask our cars to be Teslas, but this is a shame.

Yeah will be annoying - Android 11 is out there (have it on my Galaxy S20+ now) and that supports wireless Android Auto - shame I can't have it!

Cheap dongle style adapters are available for wireless carplay, I assume for android too.
