Service Intervals B9.5

I'm trying to track down the initial service intervals for a new RS4. Can anyone help?

Oil change miles/date or days?

Next Inspection miles/date or days?

Also who determines whether the servicing is fixed or variable?

I'm just after the initial figures from new.

Thanks

I think it is either fixed or flexible, fixed is annual and flexible is about 2 years and 18000 miles.
It is owners choice as to which type of service schedule.

Thanks

Mine would be set on fixed which is okay. Should the oil and inspection both be 12 months?

I think so although later on some additional items may be on mileage or time, I’ve not really looked yet😀

My new b9.5 shows 18100 miles until oil change and inspection. Must have long life oil in it I guess. Think I may get my oil/filter changed 1/2 way at about 9000, 18000 seems like a long time

Must check whether mine is set to fixed or variable servicing. My SQ5 was set to annual servicing presumably as my PCP was 10k miles a year. I assume therefore that the RS4 will be similar, which I guess is reasonable but when most of my 10k miles a year are on long journeys it might be unnecessary.

Like you say though, 18k between oil changes is a lot, but as my brother pointed out, I dont keep cars long enough to worry about the impact it might have!

Thanks All

Mine was 9400/12 months for both so must be on a fixed basis.

With the mileage I'm doing at present, I'll be lucky to do 4500 in 12 months.

With the new cars my wife and I have had, I don't recall being asked which I wanted - Fixed or Flexible!

Variable interval servicing is an service/oil change every 2 years
Fixed interval is also a service/oil change every 2 years but with an extra oil change in between so the car never goes more than 12 months without an oil change.
Odd naming, the intervals of both schemes seem quite fixed.

My car was supplied like that (so called Variable interval servicing).
They switched it to fixed at the first service (without saying anything) so if, after the first service, you see an oil change in a year and service in 2 years then you will know what happened.

Old thread, but just the topic I am looking for.

Can anyone help me with further with the service schedule for the B9/B9.5 RS 4 please? It's the mileage/age specific additional items I am interested in, in particular the differentials and gearbox.

I'm presently on 68,500 miles.
Looking back at my service records.
Gearbox and differential oil change at 60,000 miles.
Brake fluid flush about every 35,000 miles or 2 years.

Originally for the first three warranty years the service was on a flexible service every 18,500 mile, the majority of my mileage is motorway.
But during that time I did interim oil / filter changes myself at 9,000 miles, pumping it out through the dip stick tube. I can get all but 200ml out that way, yes I measure it :kissmyrings:
I did have a few fixed services every 9500 miles, I'm back on flexible again.

Engine air filter and spark plugs every 40,000 miles. I tend to pop the air filter out every 6 months, clean the air box and vacuum all the leaves and dirt off the filter to help it breathe easier. Also at the end of autumn get all the leaves out of the radiators!

Brakes, pads min thickness 10mm including backing plate, front discs min thickness 34mm, 36mm (new) and rear discs min 20mm, 22mm (new).
I had to change my first set of discs and pads at about 48,000 miles, I'm still on my second set.
I usually get about 20,000 miles out of a set of tyres, and I always get a four wheel alignment check when I get any changed.

Some of the above things may be grouped together into a regular oil change or service inspections at your dealer.

I changed the rear lower coil spring cups at 75,000 miles, the inner aluminium part is exposed through the rubber cup so it corrodes slowly and the cup collapses, a known problem.
I'm looking at having the change the front end, upper front and rear suspension control arms before long as the bushes are starting to show signs of cracking, also a known problem.

Next up I suppose will be the shocks, I have DRC so I'm not looking forward to that.

I hope this helps :rocker:
