Steering wheels

Post by Jie85 » Sat Sep 12, 2020 10:14 pm

Hi

I am looking at various cars for sale right now, I have found a decent spec but it had the round heated steering wheel and no pan roof. I think I can live without the roof but not sure about the steering wheel... can the flat bottom wheel be retrofitted??
Cheers

You might regret this in winter, the heated wheel is lovely and warm. :bigblink:

It won’t be a daily drive, mostly weekends.

I was the same, looked so wrong seeing as RS without the flat wheel and as daft as it sounds it was a deal breaker for me so kept looking.

Steering wheels

I’d be wary on the roof-generally when it comes to RS Avants then a pano roof is one of the ‘must haves’. It definitely is on the RS6.
Steering wheel should be a straight swap-not sure about the heating electronics and reckon you wouldn’t be able to fit it into a flat bottomed one.

Don’t agree on the roof. Many want, many don’t, and as many not arsed.

I’d didn’t have one on my C7, did on TTS but won’t bother again. It’s an expensive source of rattles.

Personally, I wouldn’t have a car without one.
Regretted it when I once bought a car without a sunroof.

Adversely some people spec a sunroof on their M3/4 which then hammers them on the resale as the carbon roof is one of the USP’s for those cars.
Bit like having an AMG with a crap exhaust note.

Kind of limits your options, much exotica doesn’t have the option. Unless you go roofless.

Not talking about exotica, but as a daily.
I take your point though. 👍

You will be persona non grata in the car park if your steering wheel is perfectly round.

IMHO flat wheel, pano roof must have with Avant, Heated option would be a worth bonus
