Mine was £79k new, I bought it 2 years old with 2 years warranty and only 15k miles for £50k. To me there was no way I was going to pay the extra outlay to get a new facelift.

They key is as mentioned is to keep them for a long time, which is something I never seem to be able to do.

Get some photos up when you've stopped driving it Elpeterol!

There is nothing like having a brand spanking new car though!
When I want a new car I want the latest model available.
The last time I bought a used car I just couldn’t gel with it.
To me it felt like wearing somebody else’s suit; it didn’t quite fit.
After 3 weeks I ended up ordering a new car with everything I actually wanted.
Won’t buy used again.....!

Fully agreed Nastro ,, I got that fed up with looking at Used Mint cars which were far from Mint even at the main dealers.

I wouldn't sleep knowing or wondering how it had been driven / looked after previously.

Love brand new cars, great discount & service.

Got the 4TH year added too which you certainly can do used.

Enjoy Elpeterol they are stunning bits of kit- love the lights when unlocking in the dark

Enjoy

I’d still rather get the exact car that I want run it in as I want and keep it for a long time. My S4 lost about 50% in six years. I got a significant discount on the new car and wiil keep it for at least 5 years. Financially used makes very good sense - emotionally I’n not so sure😀
I agree, I have bought new with a good discount and select options of my choosing. I keep the car for 8+ Years averaging around 7500 miles a year and sell privately at the end. The longer you keep it the more diluted the depreciation. It almost flat lines after 5 years. I always get it main dealer serviced. Don’t bother with independents. They sometimes quote more! Selling within 3 years is when you loose a shed load of money.

Thread resurrection but having driven both I’m firmly in the pre facelift camp.
I think the front end looks far more aggressive on the pre facelift and that the rather chintzy new headlamp design and frameless grill on the revised front end looks a bit cheaper and less special.

On the inside I lament the loss of the click wheel - I really didn’t like the touchscreen - and also the revised virtual cockpit is horrible compared to the older style one, I don’t understand why they insisted on changing something that wasn’t broken.

Drive wise the pre facelift felt slightly more urgent in terms of acceleration, with the facelift marginally quieter exhaust note wise, but other than that there’s nothing in it that I could tell.

Sports edition is a good base car but options make ownership more enjoyable day to day. Even new vorsprung models don’t seem to get all the toys as standard from what I can see.
What’s the depreciation… £10k per year from new?
