Space saver wheel - is this the part number

Evening everyone.

I have picked up my RS4 now and a little concerned that it only has tyre seal rather than a space-saver spare wheel.

It has a space for a spare wheel and it seems that they do make them.

Can anyone point me to one or if not can anyone confirm that 8W14540.054402.7 is the part number?

Last question for those that have the space saver, does it fit on the front and rear axles as on my M5 the offset was different on each axle and one wheel wouldnt fit both axles

Thankyou

Hello Busa
I'm lucky enough to own an 18 plate RS4 B9 in Sazuka Grey and it has a space saver wheel in the boot under the floor panel and I've had to use it twice so far once for a puncture by a nail  the second by a sidewall pinched due to a pot hole

Any way see the images I have attached of my spare.
It fits on the front or rear of the car, I've have used in both locations. Just make sure it's the correct pressure, mine was low from Audi. Luckily I keep an electric tyre pump in my boot.

If you haven't got one it must be an Audi cost, sorry weight saving policy!
Try using tyre seal after a motorway blowout in the outside lane and your tyre is completely shredded. Ask the AA and RAC why they now carry loaner get you home tyres for their members?
I understand them putting tyre seal in even less when once you get to a tyre fitting center, because our tryes are not a common main stream size 90% of them won't have one in stock.
Also don't forget that the tyre tread depths have to be within limits as well or the torsional differences will cook your diff / gearbox oil apparently.

I hope this helps

Hi Jools, does this fit in the space under the boot floor, do you need to remove anything apart from the compressor/seal kit?
Thanks

My car came with a get you home wheel, so best ask Busa what he had to do.
The spare on mine fits under the floor panel around and over the sub base unit and is fixed with a big plastic screw thing that screws into the sub base unit to keep it in place while you drive around.

Spare is part of base spec in the UK. Busa's car is possibly from a different market.

Thx for share.

Have noticed from photo that tire is 19".
Many B9's have been ordered w/20" wheels.

Any forum member know if there is a 20" tire option available for this spare rim?
Thx,

It shouldn’t make any difference, it’s the outer dia of the tyre that matters

20" wheels have a lower profile so the rolling circumference is the same, or close enough.

20” spare rim are much better than 19” on curvy roads.

I have 275 30 20" wheels and rims on mine. The get you home spare rim maybe 19" but the sidewall is bigger so that takes it up to the equivilent 20".
I didn't have any problems when I had to use it except the TPMS bugging you ever time you start up.

Face palm to self.
Thx for reply(ies). Clearly it's been too long since I 'up sized' rims and my memory of tire OD's / side wall heights versus rim size was lost.

How could you fit the spare rim with that battery? Is the rear compartment different for the UK mkt?

(I was ironic in the previous post) Image
