So finally got my Milltek fitted to my
B9 yesterday and it makes the world of difference....like having a new car and it’s transformed the sound (important in a performance car imo). One thing I’ve found is how massive the rear section of the OEM exhaust is! Doesn’t break apart like the Milltek (which comes in sections) so am having to hire a van to get the exhaust back home for storage.
In the coming days will post comparison vids and the difference is night and day.

Look forward to hearing more. Did you go Res or Non Res? The non res on the videos sounds incredible but the big question is....does it drone in comfort. I guess I want it lovely and quiet in comfort and proper anti social in Dynamic :thumb:

Non Res Race. It’s a bit of a faff getting it on and not all the pipes lined up-the fitter had to lightly manipulate some to get them to fit. Apparently the end product is great but the fitting can be a bit of an effort.
In dynamic/individual is absolutely rips and it is like having a new car. Drove it in comfort and auto on m-way and it doesn’t intrude.
Cold start is pretty loud.
Will get vids up asap with some good comparisons of my old sports exhaust.
Imo this is how the B9 should sound from stock.

Exhaust question

Post by stevo55 » Sun Sep 06, 2020 7:14 pm

Link to original video I shot a while back.
First in auto then in dynamic and cold start. Stock vehicle. OEM sports exhaust
https://vimeo.com/455277456

Latest video showing Milltek non res exhaust with black tips.
Same detail-auto first then dynamic. Car was semi cold so cold start is louder.
Quite the difference am sure you’ll all agree!
On the move lots of cracks and also pops and burbles on the overrun.
No drone inside and feels strangely detached from the car (which fees more responsive). On the outside....pure noise.
Love it to bits

Much better!!!!
I just realised you are driving an RS5
Assuming we share the same system and specs on exhaust? as B9 RS4.

Yes exactly the same system and exhaust.
As you can hear it makes a massive difference. Performance cars should sound as good as they drive and the B9 sound is sorely lacking. This fills that gap very nicely.

This sounds brilliant. I notice they do a Road plus option which is in between res and non res.

So tempted!

I would say go non res. More noise plus a small HP gain (10-20 hp am told). Car feels more responsive and it’s like having a new motor.
