Cete Automotive valve control

Ok i have just bought and received a Cete Automotive active valve control unit. I believe it is the same as the Miltek one. However it has arrived with zero instructions. I had an email from them with an attempt at generic instructions for fitting in an Audi, but no mention on how to use it. I have emailed them for better instructions but am not going to hold my breath. Have any of you fitted one of these to your B9, was it straight forward and once fitted how do you actually control the exhaust valves?

I had it on mine so do have the instructions. PDF I think so can probably mail them over.

Edit - valves always shut in comfort and always open in dynamic even after an ignition cycle. Sport button will also turn the valves on and off in any driving mode.

No a local VAG specialist did it for me. The initial install was tricky as the instructions were slightly out vs what they guys found wiring wise when they opened up the back of the car. Cete were helpful though indeed afaik they spoke in the end.

Ok so i think i am going to need to find someone in my neck of the woods to fit it for me then as i really don't fancy having a go at it, especially with the install instructions they supply.

I bought a Cete Controller for my RS4 and never got around to fitting it - the people at Cete in Germany were fabulously helpful and let me swap it for an RSQ3 one - so now I have real 5 cyl engine howl all the time. It was fitted by the same people that did Terminator_X's RS4: http://www.thephirm.co.uk/ who were absolutely brilliant and the fitting looks like it was OEM, there when the car was assembled.

I’m getting my RS4 in a month or two. I’m curious as to how this module changes the original function of the valves? Aren’t the valves closed in Comfort and open when in Dynamic originally? Thanks for sharing.

Always closed in Comfort and open in Dynamic even after an ignition cycle. You can toggle open / shut though in any mode by tapping Sport button.

Ah sorry I misread your post! From the factory the left valve is open at startup and idle; it then closes as you pull away. In Comfort the valves stay shut. In Dynamic both open at about 4k revs. Every ignition cycle though the car defaults to Comfort even if you leave the car in Dynamic when you turn it off.

Is there drone below 4k rpm if you use the Cete module and set on always Open? Just wondering if Audi did that so as to avoid unwanted or unflattering sounds between 1k to 4k revs.

Imho they did it to avoid anti social noise in day to day driving e.g. unlikely to go above 4k unless booting it. Less of an issue in the RS4 vs say the RS3 which was absolutely nuts with the valves open from idle!

But how rising sound with open valves between 1k to 2 k revs?

Cete module owners able to comment on your experience?
