Cete have reduced the cost of the AVC - maybe a Black Friday thing - (have bought one for my F3), here is the RS4 one: https://www.active-sound.eu/de/audi/aud ... ction_ms=1

I think this is because there is a Bluetooth version coming up and this one is not it.

They'd be zero benefit in having a Bluetooth option in reality though - it's linked to the Drive Select modes by default.

Cete did tell me they were doing a black friday deal :)

but after unplugging my valves (keeping open) and not really noticing much difference in volume ive decided against it.

I'm curious - how would you be in a position to unplug the valves in the open position? As I recall they open briefly when you initially start the car, then close - only reopening above 4k rpm or in S mode....did you have the car on a ramp with the engine running when you unplugged the valves I wonder?

On mine they are open when engine switched off. You can see them open if you look into the pipes. Then also on idle in dynamic. Once car moves they close.
Plugs are tricky to unplug and need small hands :)

I’m still confused as to how this device works.

From their website:

Following functions are available with Audi Drive Select menu:

Audi Drive Select: Comfort Mode
Both exhaust valves are closed (even while cold start)

Audi Drive Select: Auto Mode
Possibility to go to original mode anytime

Audi Drive Select: Dynamic Mode
Both exhaust valves are open permanently

Innovative features
Protection of engine (security function)
Fully loaded car drives with closed exhaust valves can damage your engine. That’s why our module opens valves from revs of about 4000 RPM in order to protect the engine.

Reversal of valves via original button
You’ll have the possibility to reverse the valves during dynamic as well as comfort mode. That means: You’re driving in comfort mode with closed valves but wish to open them? No problem, just click on the original button twice.

Their info doesn’t say how this interacts with the RS1 and RS2 modes in my car.

It also doesn’t say which button on the car is the “original button”.

It's a bit confusing - I have it on my F3 RSQ3 - again twin tail pipes both with valves and RS1/RS2 modes on the steering wheel/latest touch MMI and a Cete AVC, installed a week ago.

Assuming the deployment is similar to mine - the valves are set permanently open/closed using the ESP button.

1) Drive Select Comfort/Auto/Efficiency - it's possible to have the valves either permanently open (my choice on the RSQ3) - big difference in noise output, seems to bring the pleasurable soundtrack lower down the rev range
2) Drive Select Comfort/Auto/Efficiency - valves closed until the engine RPM exceeds 4,000. Great for cold starts/early departures
3) Drive Select Dynamic - Valves permanently open
4) RS1/RS2 - the F3 RSQ3 has a standard exhaust setting in the Drive Select settings of 'Pronounced' seems to be the same as Dynamic - valves are open.
5) There is also a 'service mode' function that reverts to stock and the AVC becomes 'dealer invisible', this is activated/deactivated with the Stop/Start button

I'm sure the B9.5 has some VC RS-unique displays for RS1 and RS2 (as does mine), the other VC instrument layouts are also cool and now enjoyable with a soundtrack to match.

Thanks for the insight. I think the best way is just to buy it and find out how it works on the RS4.

Hello everybody - The CETE instructions are not clear regarding how to connect the 2 wires to the CAN bus.
Any insight on this would be great!
Thanks

Call Cete and ask - they are a really helpful bunch of people.

I have reached out to them by email and they advise to contact a workshop.
How of curiosity is it required to cut the canbus wire or is there an adapter which requires no cutting ?
I cannot see well what they do around 1:35 in this YouTube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCZoCbP ... motiveGmbH

Thanks

It isn't clear in the video. There are 'adapters' that work like a 'Scotchloc' for splicing wires together really easily. I can't see where you are located - a past member here pointed my in the direction of 'The Phirm' @ Blackwater in the UK - https://www.thephirm.co.uk/, they had fitted an AVC to his RS4 and they fitted one to my previous RSQ3 Performance...I think they called Cete for guidance too.
