Pretty much as the title suggests. Have you remapped it or fitted a tuning box like the TDI box? Any thoughts, was it a big improvement?

I have the ABT tuning box for an increase to 510 HP. The additional power is noticeable in the higher revs - I like it!

I had the JFA tuning box, made a huge difference imho with the car feeling like it should have done from the factory. RS4 too close to the RS3 for my liking stock vs stock.
I had the car dyno'd before and after so will post up the change in a bit.
TX.
Edit - dyno before was 460hp and 510 torque; after was 520hp and 560 torque.

So as a fact finder for my B9 RS5 I reached out to ABT who have given me a quote that’s pretty astronomical (multiple thousands) considering the gains (the most basic tune giving 60 ps and 80nm torque extra) it gives. It’s my understanding that the USP of ABT is that it’s Audi approved and therefore it doesn’t affect your warranty. With that being said the blurb on their website states that the UK is exempt from this for an unknown reason.
Without that warranty shield (AC Schnitzer do the same for BMW but UK is covered so it may be worth the large cost) to me it almost seems pointless considering other tuners claim to achieve just as much extra power (and more) for far less.
Not doubting the tech and research behind ABT and their product but their prices are frankly crazy. Litchfield for example are quoting £600 all in for similar gains.

I looked at ABT due to the possibility of it being under Audi warranty but as you found out as did i this is not covered in the UK
The only difference i see it the ABT tune has extra cooling as part of the tune

Don't think anyone has cracked the ECU
MRC don't list the B9 on there website if your serious try giving them a call but when youll be able to get it is anyones guess at the moment
All the ones i have seen are bolt on tuning boxes
Which you could order and fit yourself

Had a bolt on tuning box for my old A45 (only way to get it to perform as it should have done stock) plus a JB4 for my M135i. Results were pretty good to be honest considering the price (around £4-500) which considering the asking price of ABT (10 times as much) really calls me to question how they can charge as much as that.
Car is still under warranty until early next year and am still debating if it needs a tune (it needs the exhaust sorting that’s for sure) so am just looking at the options currently.

Did anyone get round to doing this?
I've spoken to MRC and they initially suggest a Stage 1 map taking the car to approx 520 bhp and 550 lb/ft, a gearbox tune (which is mainly remapping the the clutch plates so the grip more firmly ensuring all torque is transferred) and a high flow filter. Sounds interesting and trying to find someone who has had it done to find out first hand how they are finding it

More firms seem to be offering tuning options including some of the more established ones (DMs for Example)
Also been following ‘Officially Gassed’ on YT who is slowly modding his B9:

My Milltek non res race exhaust finally arrives end of the month so am interested to see what it does to throttle response etc. Also adds another 10-20 bhp am told although not sure what difference that will make. The gearbox tune is a good option-lots of RS6 owners rave about the MRC one transforming the car.
