Have a question for the forum, might seem daft but want to check anyway as it’s been annoying me / playing on my mind.
My Car is warning me on the console that it’s 4 days until an inspection is due, which aligns to exactly 3 years to the date the car was first registered, so an annual service reminder. However I had it serviced after buying it second hand probably about mid July last year, I would have expected the Audi dealership where it was serviced to have marked that within the car itself, by marking it had a service with the onboard computer or resetting the service interval clock or something, does that sound right?
I’m planning to ignore it to be honest as it’s been in for a service in July and been in about Sept / Oct to have the engine thermostat replaced under warranty, so another £300 service would be overkill IMHO. I know these cars are specialist motors but servicing every 6 months seems excessive.
Any thoughts? Do I ignore and maintain a year since last service or do I ignore at my peril?
