Does anybody know if the FL version can be ordered without the chromed detail in the rear lights?

I doubt it and it sure is ugly.
Seen them with the middle in black and the lights in chrome.
I’d have them wrapped black.

Hi Quattro,
I did ask & was told no,
I have got used to it now,
I think it would look at bit odd being wrapped.

Thank you. I have ordered the black package, don’t remember the exact name however the middle bar should come in black while the details inside the rear light block will be chromed.

That’s surely because they didn’t want to spend on a new light block that matches the darker package. On the contrary on the new rs6 that corresponding detail is in black, but the plastic component there is on the surface of the light block while for the rs4 it’s behind the light surface, isn’t it?
I don’t think it is easily wrapped.

Ok I didn’t know it was inside the lights.
I’d change out the middle for chrome then. Looks horrible two tone.
Progress...

Have not tried / seen tried - so may get flamed - but in absence of OEM black chrome strip, for owner that are insistent on all Black trim appearance, how about auto grade high gloss tape like 3M (presumably auto spec https://www.ebay.com/itm/3M-1080-Black- ... 3243441447 - used for covering chrome window trim)?

Wrap a width matching strip that from tail light, right across tailgate existing black trim (so that there is consistent gloss match), to other tail light?

Tape on lens of GBP60k car is not be everyone's idea of quality, it's not mine really:), BUT it's "an option" versus 2 tone 'tail light chrome onto tailgate gloss black onto tail light chrome' that certain owners seem to dislike.

agreed.
GBP 60K cars should come with specific light lens when ordered with black trim.
But that's only my personal idea of quality. And that would affect margins.

Like quattro stated, the chrome strip seems to be positioned under the plastic.
If so you can’t wrap it.

It might be doable but you would have to remove the light cluster and strip it down to access in the interior to remove and wrap the strip but a lot of work

Mines a facelift car.
Are the rear lights different on your car Brooner?
Can’t see a chrome strip in your lights.

I found a FL RS4 with the chrome strip in black. Checked the german configurator but it's not an opt. Probably the owner here did "a lot of work" to remove them. He also changed wheels with the ABT. I'm not a great fun of dark rims.
