I have been holding off buying a couple of RS4’s because they haven’t had the sound pack, but thinking am I being too fussy. How does the normal sound stand against the upgrade?

I had a "normal" car from the dealer for a few days and it had no B&O. To me the diff was day and night. I'd never go without the sound upgrade.

Don’t know what the standard audio does, but I’m pleased with the B&O. Defenitely get it for the price.

To my ears the RS4's B&O setup was inadequate, really not good enough for a flagship vehicle in 2019. It really lack a solid bass capability so you don't get a nice warm, rounded sound. You get used to it for sure but it's not off the quality Audi have achieved in other vehicles. I'm not some base-ball-cap on back to front head-banger either (aged 62) - some Audi cars have a subwoofer in the boot space (the SQ5s) was inside the spare wheel and the current ride has one back there too. I'd dare to suggest that you need to find a car and have a listen for yourself.
