Decided to take the plunge!
Decided to take the plunge!
Hi everyone, new to the forum! I've finally decided to bite the bullet and go for my dream daily - a B9 RS4. Looking for a mid-2018 one with low mileage
I've been looking at the classifieds (and the Audi approved list) and the prices seem to be around the £60k-£65k range. I want a manufacturer-approved one as I cannot risk any issues which won't be covered by warranty.
Any tips or pitfalls I should be aware of? For example, I saw one example which was significantly lower than all the others (£56k) - should that ring alarm bells or can I rely on the fact that it's Audi-approved?
Thanks for any help/suggestions!!

Re: Decided to take the plunge!
It seems a bit random sometimes (i.e. there are cars on there with very similar spec but different prices) but for that one (the one at Norwich, yes?) I think it's that it is a bit higher mileage than some of the others and is missing some of the more expensive options (DRC, sports exhaust, tour pack, pano roof etc.).
Re: Decided to take the plunge!
Makes no difference if Audi Approved or not. You will get the same back up (3 -5 year fully transferable Audi warranty depending on which option first owner ticked). Don't dismiss a cheaper private car. If buying nearly new there is really is little advantage in sticking with a dealer. And Audi dealers don't check the cars any better than a private buyer would. When I part exed my last two cars (one a RS6) they didn't even walk outside to look at them. With the RS6 (2 years old) I told them it had knackered rear brakes that were vibrating like hell, but they simply valeted it and stuck it on the forecourt and then appeared surprised when someone on this forum test drove it and complained about the awful vibration. I would much rather buy from some of the enthusiast owners on here.
PS Should add they are great daily drivers.

I didn't care about DRC or pano roof and the car drove fine without them imho. I did have carbon pack though which imho lifted it a bit.alFR wrote:It seems a bit random sometimes (i.e. there are cars on there with very similar spec but different prices) but for that one (the one at Norwich, yes?) Agreed: was just saying that might be a reason why that particular one was being priced lower.Terminator_X wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2019 3:38 pmI didn't care about DRC or pano roof and the car drove fine without them imho. I did have carbon pack though which imho lifted it a bit.

Re: Decided to take the plunge!
As mentioned by TX, go for a car that has either the carbon pack or black styling pack, as I think they are a little more desirable. I have the pano roof on mine (RS5), lets in plenty of light, not sure if they are bigger on the RS4? I did not go DRC, really disliked it on a test drive especially on the dynamic setting..
Sounds a bit weird but the RS4 and RS5 does get allot of attention, I assume because such low numbers on the road. I took mine over to Coventry Motor-fest over the weekend, as my son studies over there, I literally had 100 complements on the day, people just loved it, whether I was parked up or driving through..

Terminator, was this your car? If so, anything that you can tell me about it that I should be aware of. PM me if you prefer.Terminator_X wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2019 3:38 pmI didn't care about DRC or pano roof and the car drove fine without them imho. They do have some well priced cars, when compared to others. Have you called them about it?
Where are you based, I can take a look at it if you want?

Re: Decided to take the plunge!
I'm actually based in Cyprus. The car will be for export to here, which by the way is one reason I do not really want the panoroof - we try and hide from the sun, not look for it!! Do you live nearby to the dealer?Terminator_X wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 11:16 pmCan you send me a link to it and I'll check? Pm if you'd rather.stephen_m wrote:Terminator, was this your car? Re: Decided to take the plunge!
Pushed the button and went for this one. Hard to justify paying an extra £7k for another car with a few more extras (which I don't really need) and 10k more miles. Can't wait!!alFR wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2019 1:42 pmIt seems a bit random sometimes (i.e. there are cars on there with very similar spec but different prices) but for that one (the one at Norwich, yes?) Re: Decided to take the plunge!
Congratulations - how long to export and ship a car to Cyprus? Presumably it has to get put into a container and sent as sea freight?
