RS4 Sport edition

Good evening All,

Does anyone know what The RS4 sport edition is about the Audi are releasing a few of ?

Don't think this is a Facelift !!

not sure my dealer hinted they would be out June / July but no details all they said was they would be pre spec'ed but that's all

RS3 also has a sports version and is the only way to get sports exhaust! Nuts!

Remember the carbon edition that we got in the UK. Well I understand the RS3 Sports Edition is UK only so maybe Audi have facelifted the name Carbon Edition into Sports Edition.

Been having a chat with my preferred (not local) Audi dealer today and they have secured 3 of these RS4 Sports Editions for June / July. Have asked for a full list of standard equipment as I'm hoping it includes privacy glass and a decent inlay setup (ideally Carbon as I hate the Silver and Piano Black inlays)

They have listed out RS Styling (whatever that actually means) / Black Pack / Sports Exhaust / Tech Pack / Pano Roof / 20" wheels (not sure which ones)

This approach of Sports Editions and Plus models seems to come about at the end of a line, prior to a face lift or new model.

do all the 250 cars have identical specs apart from Colour ?

Does any one know what the options will be ?

The 3 my dealership have emailed me about are as follows.

Car 1 - Change of 20" Alloys only
Car 2 - Comfort and Sound Pack only
Car 3 - Standard Sports Edition, no additional options.

So mixed bag I would imagine

The ones i have seen the spec for have

Comfort and sound pack
Sport exhaust
Black pack
Panoramic sunroof
Milled alloys

I assume these aren't FL cars (the one photographed testing recently) but are a sort of "end of line" run of the old model? This whole thing seems a really odd: not being able to spec what you want is fairly crap for such an expensive car anyway, plus there doesn't appear to be any way of seeing a list of all the cars / specs available (short of calling a load of dealers and asking what they're getting, which randomly may or may not be the spec / colour you want). Bizarre.

It is WTLP. Spec alters results so rather than test every permutation on run out model, they have limited to a few pre-set specs.

Audi always seem to me, to be quite apathetic towards selling RS cars

They have been for about ten years, just another sale now. The dedicated R8/RS team at AUK is long gone.

The service you recurve is largely driven by your dealer, though some matters require external support and that’s where the wheels came off long ago.
