Disliking the IP 'iPad' Display as much as I do, I get small (selfish) satisfaction that facelift buyers will be inflicted with same design - albeit it is still early days and further change could yet materialize:)

Current front lights I like, & so have no preference for change. The new rear light layout does look a little sharper though, more modern perhaps, but both those and front grille facelift changes I won't loose any sleep over.

"..... from some of the angles we are able to notice the tablet-styled infotainment system has been retained. It means the RS4 Avant facelift will not get the nicely integrated MMI of the bigger Audis, but some updates could still be in order with the mid-cycle refresh. ....."

Thanks for posting.

This explains the RS4 being out of production better than the emissions story to me

....but they don't need to defer production while they're waiting to complete development / launch this facelift change. They are currently producing RS4's for other countries - outside Europe it seems - and so story rolls back to other issue(s), be that WLTP, capacity, other? ....No?

I don't know how people can comment on the design, with all the camouflage I really couldn't judge based on those images. It has been suggested a few more horses to match the C63, so I guess that would leave me feeling a bit miffed if I was in an earlier car, seems indecently soon for a facelift only 2 years after launch (if the commentators are correct).

Ok... this car could be ordered for about 3 months where I live and there is already a facelift coming up.

Doesn't look a jot different to me.

I expect Audi will address some of the stuff that needs fixing like replacing the paddles on the steering with Aluminum paddles and puting a tacho on the HUD.
Small things like that can make a big difference and can't be seen from the outside.

Why do you expect that?

Have to agree based on your first comment. Other than what is clearly new - lights and grille for example - rest is hearsay. Even the existence of same IP (Display) at this point is no assurance that new IP is not in development.
You, as I have elsewhere, read about possible performance tweak, yet article notes " ...we’re expecting the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 engine to soldier on with 444 horsepower and 443 pound-feet (600 Newton-meters) of torque....."

It's a matter of waiting longer for better confirmations:)

PS
Why, if there wasn't an engine performance tweak, would they need Winter Testing if simply a cosmetic facelift? To those who know better, is that likely because revised grille has impact on engine cooling performance?

I had in the back of my mind when I ordered in August that a face lift must be coming soon. This looks pretty minor, no new expensive sheet metal changes, just a new bumper and maybe new wheel and colour options??? Glad I didn't wait. Wonder if you need WLPT testing for a new bumper....

Could simply be a development mule - it's just a 'car' that happens to be an RS4 shell and they are testing particular components in a very cold climate.

same story repeated in evo today
https://www.evo.co.uk/news/22440/2019-a ... ed-testing

They hint at a small power increase.
I have never thought my car needed more power, but, 500hp is becoming a benchmark.
AMG C63, Alfa Quad all have over 500 hp, and the new M3 launching in September with 510hp and 4WD.
450hp is beginning to look a little weak and the wrong side of the 500hp benchmark.

On the dyno mine was 460hp and 520ft torque so no slouch. Audi sandbag the stats imho.
