The dog

Post by Tiger1 » Wed Feb 27, 2019 9:48 am

Ok, so I actually did buy the RS4 to use the estate bit as well as the performance.
So it’ll be carrying much of the British countryside back from winter dog walks.
In previous cars I’ve managed to get rubber matts which match the spec of the car, but all I can find on the Audi accessories site are A4 rubber matts. Pretty dull.
Even the 4 rings would be more appealling, but preferably RS matts, plus one for the boot with the protective flap for the bumper.
Realise that’s pretty dull, and I promise to add some more entertaining contributions in future if someone can give me some good pointers on this.
Danke Schön :-)

I tried - but ended up with OE A4 mats and non-branded boot liner.....

Grrrr. Sounds like I’m gonna be pretty limited then.
I travel through Germany quite a bit. Wonder if there’s anything different on the continent.

The stock A4 rubber mats are OK - they seem to made out of something that isn't rubber - kind of plastic like, easy to clean. I'm a keen clay shooter so collect some bits of countryside on my boots on a regular basis too.

So it’s you making all that racket with the clays!!
Only kidding, it’s a fabulous sport, and having grown up on a farm and long since turned against wanting to kill any innocent wildlife, I honestly think clays are so much fun I can’t see why anyone would want to do the other.
I’ll have a look at the stock matts 👍

Yup - I can't see the 'sport' in denying wildlife its tomorrow either - clays are a different matter!

Rubber A4 labelled mats are great. Hatchbag best boot liner - fastens direct to carpet, no sticky pads needed.
Then buy a moulded rubber shallow liner to finish the job, quite a few good ones on eBay.

I’m getting a new pup on wednesday, so I ordered the hatchbag with seat and bumper flap.
Seems to be well made.
Do you leave it in permanently or do you take it out after use?
I can imagine if you remove the velcro a lot it will damage the carpet on longer term?

Here’s a pic of the boot. I added a rubber mat on top of it (already had that in the boot) and on top of that goes a vetbed (also from them)
