No but I won’t be surprised if the new run has one fitted.

I think i would be looking at removing it if they fit it to the new production model
Unless this would negate the warranty

It’s not going to be a device you can just remove!

Yes, and it’s an MOT fail. So remove under warranty and the warranty is gone or remove post and fail MOT.

The updated model is almost certain to have one. I know one was fitted to the M4 last summer and the fact that the M3 did not have a GPF caused BMW to stop production earlier than they wanted to.

I’m following this
Soon to order the Mrs a new car (Porsche again) and told that it will have GPF
Are theses going to cause the same issues as the diesel variants cause if the car doesn’t warm enough / get decent run do we know. ?

Not a precise confirmation to your query, because Audi's Media release only describes the intent to apply Particle Filters not the application timing by model, but FWIW -
"... To comply with the new limits, gasoline engines must be fitted with particulate filters. Their first use at Audi is slated for the Audi A5 Coupé 2.0 TFSI from June 2017 and they will later be gradually extended to all other series. In the future, Audi will be conducting all consumption and emission measurements with spark ignition engine particulate filters, as in accordance with the RDE legislation. ..."

I picked up a brand new petrol car at the start of the month, which has a GPF fitted. From my research it would appear the manufacturer started fitting GPFs to the model at the start of 2018 (way before WLPT shutdown). The model car I have pre WLTP had CO2 Emissions of 144g/km, my post WLTP car has 140g/km, but that isn't to do with the GPF.
The WLTP shutdown therefore is a co-incidence in some cases, however, VAG brands are indeed using it as an opportunity to add the GPF to their engines to further help them pass WLPT with better numbers, so the RS4 may appear with one if Audi see fit.
There aren't any problems with GPF's anyway as their are no heat issues, like there is with Diesel, for them to block or go wrong.
