TPMS question - fitting C7 RS wheels to B9 RS4

Hi,
Quick question re TPMS. I am fitting a spare set of concave 20s off my old C7 RS6. They have TPMS, the RS4 does not ( I presume it uses ABS sensors). Should I remove the TPMS and replace with normal valves? Is that a problem? Or just leave as is?
Thanks
Mark

Personally I'd leave them on there until you change tyres then leave them off to save the batteries (and sell them if you don't want to keep them). You could remove them then now to sell if you wish but it'll probably cost you £80 or more to remove the tyres and replace them with new valves.

PS I think all B9s have some form of pressure monitoring. Those without the pressure and temperature option use the ABS sensors to detect a change of wheel speed to guess that there is a drop of pressure.

I wonder if you have the sensors in the wheels the MMI bit can be turned on? Proper full fat TPMS is an RS4 option (mine has it) after all.
Just checked - it's not an option on the OBD11 Apps menu.

Good idea. It is probably available to turn on in
VCDS but probably still unknown with byte / bit it is.

I suppose the hardware will be different.
I doubt it that you can simply turn it on.
One system uses abs signal, the other on the sensors.

The aerial to recieve the TPMS signals will be missing.

Thanks everyone. Will just leave there I think. Changing tyres anyway as different size on RS4.

I'd be interested to see some pics with the RS6 wheels fitted if you can get some up when you put them on please ?

Wheels are on with new tyres ( Mich P4S) and I think they look good. Sit around 10mm further out than my 19s with wider 275 tyre and different offset so fill the arches nicely without spacers.
It's dark now so will post tomorrow hopefully.
PS also noticed how light the C7 20s are - quality forged wheels.

Just seen your other thread looking good the offset seem just about spot on
