New dash nah, unlikely - more likely a mid life facelift which is usually new front and rear ends, additional kit and possible engine variations because of WLTP...but hey you just never know. The latest 'all glass' interiors would be cheaper to produce than the current set up is.

Than we have not much to fear, bumpers are RS specific.
Plus I hate all those current touch screens, greasy fingerprint magnets.

You can redefine 'useless' with Android Auto, it looks like it belongs in a Christmas cracker too.

Correct but I don’t use carplay. Very limited what you can do with it.
Except Waze there’s nothing special.
Plus every time I have to plug in the phone.

I agree touchscreen makes CarPlay much better. Definitely worth having.
It's one of the things I really miss from the M3 along with the tacho in the HUD, wonder if that will come with the new dash. And wireless CarPlay.
I use CarPlay on long journeys for Google Maps as I trust Gmaps traffic avoidance more than Audis.

I tend to view Autoexpress as the 'Sun' of the motoring press. If they are short facts then lets speculate instead. The current a4 is at the mid-life facelift point so probably has another couple of years to go as most Audi models (excluding RS derivatives) have live spans of 6 years plus with a facelift at the midpoint. The announcement of a replacement which is typically around 6 months before the order books open - the new A1 and Q3 are perfect examples and then a further 3 months before deliveries start.
So to speculate for ourselves for a moment Audi will announce the next A4 at the autumn 2019 motor shows with manufacturing starting after summer shutdown in 2020?

The new 3 series is out next year and all the reviews I have seen are positive. Audi will need to respond so the update may well be major.
