Mine does that - sometimes the button needs a very un-Audi like determined prod of the button.

I too have had that issue with the boot, on a couple of occasions I have pressed the lock and close button for it to lock only but not close, however the close button always works..

MIne's been pretty faultless over the last year and 13k miles, but recently the oil light came on and said "Please add minimum 1.25ltrs"
I added 1.5 and now it's saying it's got too much oil in it and to drain some out !!!
Took it to Audi Tetbury, who said the oil level with a manual check is ok and 'Max' light only comes on sporadically
I'll get it booked in to get sorted soon, but it's still a pain when it beeps at me

I wonder how that is possible. Does it have a hidden dipstick?

I guess it must have as they just said they have a ‘mechanical check method’

Really doubt that .25 litres will do any harm

I pressed return by accident! I was going to add that a friend (doesn't do RS246) has had misfire problems at low revs, the car stutters. Audi doing the usual and can't find a fault but I've been in the car and witnessed it and it would bug the hell out of me. I've been thinking about a 4 or 5 Sportback next as I find my 6 a big old barge, but his experience would put me off if it's commonplace, anyone else had similar?

Mine stutters when cold at low revs but only for a hundred yards. No issues. I don't mind it, it is minimal and feels like a grumpy high performance engine from back in the day. It is a fab car, don't be put off. I moved down from a C7 because of the size and weight - and I wanted a lower profile car. I know live in my 4 using it for everything. Much better drive on the sorts of roads I drive (rural Glos). And de-badged few people have a clue what it is.

Hi All,

It's raining and I feel like a moan.

New 2018 RS4.

Two weeks into ownership, engine completely shutdown whilst driving. Thankfully able to coast to side of road. It could have been a lot worse...Turned out to be a faulty cam sensor. Car was off the road for 3 weeks.

At around 10k, noticed knocking from rear. Looked up the problem on this useful forum which suggested DRC actuators. It was. Car off road for another 3 weeks.

Driver's seat lumbar intermittently expands, usually after a few minutes after starting and can't be normalised using seat pre-set buttons.

Engine starts very lumpy and almost stalls on cold morning. Sometimes kangaroo's down the road, which is rather embarrassing.

Gearbox very clunky in slow traffic, especially 3rd gear.

Cold starts, gearbox engine sometimes decides to rev to 3 1/2 RPM in first gear then settle to normality.

Squealing brakes.

SatNav randomly switches to non Google map for no reason.

Media sometimes doesn't recognise iphone.

All in all, not the best ownership experience and not even the courtesy of an apology from Audi. I won't be buying another.

That is a tough one dude - I’ve had brand new since July - 11000 miles and other than a temporary tailgate issue that just started working again - it’s been an amazing car!

Hope you get it sorted and get to enjoy it fella!

I get this but I always assumed it was when the SIM could not get data.

I think all the rest are problems and should not happen. I don't get any of them (even squeaky brakes which never happens to me)

Wow, sounds like you have a lemon!
3 weeks out for DRC repair? Mine was back in a day (well 2 I couldn’t pick it up)
I had mine rev to 3k on cold too once or twice but I was a bit more on the fun pedal as usual.
No issues with the gearbox, my second car with this box they are the best around.
Never had the maps issue but reverse camera surround view goes to graphic instead of camera after a while.
DAB goes from favorite to all stations once in a while.
Never had issues with my iPhone.
No issue with the sensor but I did have my thermostat replaced.
So far I’m still pleased with it.

PS check your seats for contact with the belt buckle. Another possible issue.

Look’s like there’s a lot software related, maybe get it reinstalled completely?

Thanks for the sympathy and advice guys, I think it must be a Friday afternoon special. First service is due soon, so an opportunity for a software re-installation. Hoping to start enjoying it more.

Yep, I do get that, I think it's a feature rather than a bug and everyone gets it. It is annoying.
It seems every time I switch ignition off it forgets that I selected camera.
Come on Audi, why would someone order surround view and then not want to use it.

I that that Audi are just not the best at software. BMW's iDrive is better, their app is better too, and they can be coded much more easily too. :assflash:

You are not the only one with these...

Sounds like a Friday car, feel for you.

My experience of Audi of late is they really don't give a toss once they have your money the service with my local dealer is shocking same with the local mini dealer as well. All the sales guys seem interested in is getting good reviews and feedback, if only they spent as much effort in asking you to fill in questionnaires with outstanding as they do treating you as a valued customer they could go a long way. I sometimes feel like I am their HR manager doing their appraisal! This is my sixth Audi and probably my last.
