I had 4 new dampers and 2 sets of valves in my 6 too - then trouble free for 20K til I sold it. Sounds like you have all my DRC luck.
I love the RS4. The 6 was great, and more refined, but just too big and unwieldy for the roads around me. And a bit aggressive looking for work. The 4 (de-badged) has become my daily and I use it much more. Handling and braking much better. Not as quick obviously - it lacks the savage top end - but plenty quick enough and probably the easiest car to drive fast on any road that I have ever had (and I have had a few). Build quality not quite the same but still very good and feels more modern. Tech much better. I am averaging 5- 6 miles more per gallon if that interests you.
I run C7 dished alloys and Mich PS4S on it. Much nicer IMO, and better offset than factory RS4 20s. And I am starting to prefer the V6 howl too...

They sit about 10mm further out that standard 20s. I don’t have picture from back, but this gives a bit better view of offset.

There is TPI 2050132/2 for knocking from rear dampers, they will change front dampers for new type.

I'm on my 3rd RS/DRC car in 10 years and have never had a problem, though I've developed some paranoia from all the threads on this esteemed forum and wonder if I have just been lucky?

Changing the subject, be interested to know how you find the new RS4 compares to the RS6, I'm in a 2017 RS6 PE and love it but it is a big old thing to haul through corners and bring to a halt. Not changing for a year or so but the B9 is on my short list and would be interested to know your thoughts (DRC aside), as i seem to remember you were in a C7 RS6.
I've got a good mate with a C7 RS6PE and we've had a few drag races. The Rs4 is marginally faster up to around 80-90, and then the RS6 will slowly pull away. Through twisty sections, the RS4 is more nimble, but having driven the RS6 a few times, the RS6 is a nicer place to before general driving and sounds better - It's massive though (as you know), and although disguises its size well on the move, for town driving or just general parking up at the supermarket, it's a pain in the arse compared to the RS4

Hi Graeme,

that's interesting as I originally went for a 17 c7 rs6PE but I found the cabin in the rs4 to ne nicer, maybe a little biased as I had a previous c7 for work so the rs4 cabin felt fresh and the available tech clinched it for me.

really interested in your statement on the acceleration though as that was one area I wasn't sure I had missed out on as only test drove for a short while, however I was presently surprised that the noise in the cabin wasn't what I was expecting in the rs6 and rs4 was better.

Yeah, the tech in the Rs4 is better (ie more modern), but I think the interior quality and the ride quality is better and more comfortable in the RS6.
The sound of the RS4 gets better with the sports exhaust over time, but it still doesn't sound anything like as good as the B8 RS4

Is that B8 RS4 or C7 RS6. I am not aware of one on B9 RS4. Could you clarify please?

On a different note, given the hassle I am getting from my DRC - the car has been off the road for 2 weeks now - it has been interesting driving a normally sprung S4 as the ride is surprisingly poor (jiggly) compared to mine. So, from that perspective, I am pleased I went for DRC.

Because this is RS4 B9 thread, it's for RS4/RS5 B9.

What does that mean, is that a callback or do they replace when you complain?
Depending on roads I have some noise too but I presumed it was the luggage cover or stuff in the boot.

Ha ha I’ve had it for the last couple of weeks,
Over major bumps it feels solid but on roads with poor road surface I hear a faint noise from the rear like it’s something rattling in the boot like a cd, so emptied the book out and still hear it but not consistently.
I now fear that I am trying to find something that may not be there and it’s driving me crazy 😝
Oh and that’s in comfort mode not noticed in dynamic and don’t use auto

The locking wheel nut isn't exactly a snug fit in the storage compartment that has all the load-rail mounting gubbins….I bet that rattles?
