What does that mean, is that a callback or do they replace when you complain?
Depending on roads I have some noise too but I presumed it was the luggage cover or stuff in the boot.
They replace it when you complain.

Ha ha I’ve had it for the last couple of weeks,
Over major bumps it feels solid but on roads with poor road surface I hear a faint noise from the rear like it’s something rattling in the boot like a cd, so emptied the book out and still hear it but not consistently.
I now fear that I am trying to find something that may not be there and it’s driving me crazy 😝
Oh and that’s in comfort mode not noticed in dynamic and don’t use auto

That's it. My car has been off the road for 2 weeks. Now on 3rd DRC accumulator - first time they changed the rear, 2000 miles later, they have done both. Quiet so far, but only 5 miles in.

Because this is RS4 B9 thread, it's for RS4/RS5 B9.
My dealer says no new type damper for B9. There was for C7 RS6 ( I had 4) but no revised design for B9 (it is accumulators rather than dampers than knock in this model it seems). Can you post more detail please? Thanks

Didn’t go for DRC this time after my B8 seemed to always be leaking/misting and the dealer responses where always inadequate, don’t really misss it car is always in dynamic when it used to always be in comfort on the B8. Would have thought Audi would have this sorted by now. Must be very frustrating for those without their cars.

The difference in ride quaility is significant - Handling aside, DRC equipped cars are much more forgiving in Comfort or Auto - less jiggling at low speeds. But if that doesn’t bother you probably best to avoid DRC.

😮 I don’t now whether to be releaved that I’m not going mad hearing a noise that’s not there, or that it sounds like it is the dreaded DRC 😢

I have just had the whole system replaced on my 2016 C7 they even replaced the pipe work as they said they have seen that perish and pressure to be lost from the system, all seems good so far but time will tell

First car equiped with it, so please excuse the maybe stupid questions.
When I drive off with a cold car, it rattles in the back on bad roads. After a while all is good.
I don’t notice any differences in handling.
I have now covered 20k km.
When new it was always silent in the back.
Is this the drc on the way out?
I checked there’s nothing loose in the trunk or tirewell, nor is it the loadspace cover. (My first thought)
If it’s the drc, is this something urgent to attend? I’m about to leave on a holiday with about 1500 km of driving mostly on German Autobahn.

You have a problem. The rattling is a sign of low pressure / failed DRC accumulator / both. And your symptoms are classic. Take it in. Best to have both accumulators replaced at the same time (as I learned). You will be amazed what a difference a fully working system makes to the ride handling. It really is a very good system when working. Audi Tetbury did mine and were brilliant.

Thanks Mark, I will.
Tuesday I’m stopping at the dealer’s for this and another issue.
Today an empty plastic bottle decided to mess up my front bumper on the Autobahn.
Lower part is messed up but it is the plastic lower part in gloss black. I suppuse that is interchangable so I won’t need a respray.

So I had it checked and have a new appointment next week on wednesday. It will have to stay at least a day. The service guy didn’t fuss around but I will stress to replace both accumulators. Are they both in the back or is one in front? Better to be prepared because in the front all is quit.

Is this just a faulty install or do these things happen every 20k km? Very annoying.
It has also turned a bit worse now. On bumpy roads at slow speed it rattles a lot even when warm.
Is this a closed circuit or does this work with a pump or so?
What do these actuators really do and why do they fail?
If it’s low pressure something must leak?

Hi just in with Audi at the moment to look at the DRC and being told the following:
In comfort there will be some sound of knocking due to setting
Unless there has been a substantial guild loss it won’t be DRC

I’m I being fobbed off in both counts as it feels like I am to me.

The knocking is worse in comfort for sure, but not normal. When they fixed mine it went completely.
