Guys I haven’t hear any fan going wild so far but my oil temperature reach 110/115 c while pushing in a bit. Where are you checking water temperature?

Water temp on the dash opposite side from the fuel gauge
As the fans came on from cold
But all sorted now as they replaced the temperature sensor

In the 2020 FL version with the new VC There’s no more analog gauge. At first I was happy about it but even if less aesthetic it was much more practical. From the VC I can check both oil and fuel but never seen the water temperature indication. There’s is the RS monitor on the MMI which uses different colors for every mechanical critical component but no indication of water temp found so far.

Hello all I am new to the forum, I have a 2014 63 audi rs4 which has this issue it has now been examined by a audi specialist local to myself, after diagnosis it is showing faults cylinders 5 6 and 7 misfire and static thermostat issue also it turns out that the pistons have melted and the above cylinders are low on compression to, since i have owned the car which isn't long a whole 2 months it now needs this huge job but give me no indication the engine was over heating otherwise I would have stopped the car and not continue using it until this issue was resolved, is this something audi would cover under a good will gesture ? Thanks in advance

I’d love to be able to say yes they would, but extremely unlikely on a seven year old car.
How many miles on it ?

Mine’s just failed again (2nd time)
It was proceeded by a number of strange electrical gremlins and the occasional warning light
Typically, it only presented itself on the coldest 6am start of the year and the first sign was that the heater just wasn’t warming up and the engine temp stayed very low
10 mins later after a fuel stop the engine warning light came fully on the fans are now going mental again
Booked back into audi on Tuesday to get sorted

Car back from Audi again, and all fixed
Apparently there's an updated Thermo sensor which should stop it happening again
