Leather seats and care - extensive wear normal?

Post by 0xSam » Sun Sep 23, 2018 3:26 pm

Hi guys

After 9.3k km's my driver seat's left side looks like this. Wondering how your seat looks like and if you apply any leather care?

I've not done any caring yet (Ordered a kit though) but is that wear normal? I didnt expirience the same on my GT-R which had recaro seats with leather as well.

Cheers Alex

Standard I'd say as this is my passenger seat after 8k miles.

This is the same as the wear seen on the B7 and B8 with buckets
Generally it come with not lifting your backside off the seat and sliding off the seat as you exit the car

Probably true Brooner as my drivers seat is better as I'm careful getting in and out vs passengers who don't give a flying f*ck!

Mine are still quite good. (Except from a damaged seam)
No shiny spots or stains.
When new I used swissvax sealer.
If you use a quality leather cleaner/conditioner you should be fine.
I usually do that twice a year.

Yeah, I ordered a Swiss Wax leather care kit. Going to apply it next weekend.

Mine are pretty much the same on the passenger side, although the majority of miles I am alone in the car so not sure why they are like this.
