They are brittle, so if you get a stone caught or you break a bit off they are done. They don’t generally get surface damage that isn’t catastrophic.

Right. It’s quite a dilemma, if talking £6000 to replace if anything does happen, not sure I could swallow that! I’m guessing Audi won’t offer any good will either...

Don’t you have to replace the pads much earlier on ceramics too compared to steel.

You can pick up C7 discs for 2-3k on ebay. Pretty sure you could get away with only replacing one discs if they had a catastrophic failure.

I'm pretty sure they can't be skimmed as the difference between new and worn out is microns rather than mm - They have dots on them as wear indicators and when new, the dots are barely recessed as is
I did see, a couple of years back, a german company was offering a refurb and re-coat process to Porsche owners as the early 991 Turbo's were eating discs. I've no idea if it was suitable for the Audi RS discs, but I understand they're made on the same production line, and in some models, possibly the same part with a different logo

Yes there is somebody that can refurb them but my. And escapes me!

Thought it was surface transform but no mention on their website.
