I had ceramics on my last b8, but didn’t spec them on my B9 mainly due to budget
You won’t notice the difference on a day to day basis until you start to push on. They don’t offer any better braking performance on the road as it’s unlikely you’ll get the steels hot enough for them to fade much (the track is a different game), but where you will notice the difference is where the unsprung weight allows the tyre to track bumps and shittier surfaces better and the car feels like it’ll turn in better at higher speeds due to less rotational weight and gyroscopically reduces mass
I had two b8’s and the first was on steels and the second on ceramics, so I had a good comparison
My ceramic shod car got chopped in for my B9 on something like 58k miles, and other than a couple of expensive pad changes, the discs were barely showing any sign of wear
The only thing to be mindful of is the increased chance of damaging them. A stone caught in the caliper can score them or a sloppy wheel change can chip the edges
Iirc, replacement front discs from the dealer were £6,400/pr parts only, and you have to change pads at the same time, so you’d be looking at a £7k+ bill
Had I been feeling as flush as I was when I bought my second b8, I’d have specced them in a heartbeat
