The debate is around reliability of dynos - does a higher reading mean the car is producing more than spec? I am not convinced due to huge margins of error.
Q) How long is a piece of string?
A) It depends on the accuracy of the ruler

These days everyone knows that 1) Audi fit cheat devices, and 2) the emissions test is done on a dyno. I wonder if this affects the result?

This outfit is in Farnborough. That's just down the road from me. They have a "£40 Saturday" on 30th June with lots of free space.
So I could go down there and tell them they're a bunch of amateurs (no fuel info, no calibratiion cert for dyno etc) or I could take my car but it's an RS5 so it will be at least 500 hp :)
If it pulls 500 give them a tip.
If 430 tell them about the fuel, calibration etc and what monkeys they are ;)

At the same place today, 460hp at just over 6.5k rpm and just shy of 500ft torque below 3k rpm. No wonder it takes off like a scalded cat!

For such a big car it flys off the line. Slows a tad nearing 100mph although to be expected I guess given the weight.

0-100 in 8.8 is impressive.

C7 RS6 Fantastic car but missed playing
GTR R35 800bhp, too extreme, crazy fast though

F10 M5, awesome but no rear grip
RS6 V10 700BHP crazy

Just wondering. Is this CarWow BS?
0 to 60 seems straightforward but it gets complicated when you go into the nuts and bolts of exactly how they take the measurements.
I guess the Audi 4.1 seconds figure is a true 0 to 100kph.
The VBox is 0 to 60 mph and is configurable with 1 foot of rollout, that deducts 0.3 second from the time making it 3.8 secs true if they have "1 ft rollout" enabled.
(CarWow could have done this going downhill rather than an average of both way runs)

Obviously we would all like to believe it but why would Audi understate their performance by such a large margin?
I don't think Audi would if there wasn't an advantage and I can't see what Audi gain by this.

I don't think the times given power and weight are unreasonable. 2009 GTR had 480bhp and 420 lbs and did around 3.2 similar weight. They cant really advertise it as quicker than their flagship model, would not make marketing sense?? Can you imagine how many new RS6s they would sell if it only does 0-60 in 3.8 lol. RS6 has to be seen to be the daddy. I think the new RS6 will be awesome as it has to compete with the new M5 (claimed 3.4 actual 2.8 they all are doing it?) and Merc which are blisteringly fast. Cant wait to see it.
