Just noticed some strange behaviour of the exhaust flaps on my B9 RS4, can someone confirm if they have the same behaviour please?
All of the following scenarios are with the drive select mode set in dynamic:
1. When the engine is started and the gearbox is in park, both exhaust flaps are open
2. When D is selected on gearbox (whilst car is stationary), the left exhaust flap closed, the right exhaust flap open
3. When S is selected on gearbox (whilst car is stationary), the left exhaust flap closed, the right exhaust flap open
4. When P is selected on gearbox, both exhaust flaps open
Is this normal behaviour? Does the left exhaust flap only open up if the rpm exceeds some threshold or something like that?

Perhaps like the RS3, one side open up to about 3k revs then both open. Makes sense in RS3 as it is silly noisy, less so in the 4.

OK, cheers for the info, I wasnt aware the RS3 did that too. I originally thought one of my exhaust flaps were sticking, but given that it was repeatable behaviour I then ruled that out. Sounds like it is just the same as RS3 then.Terminator_X wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 7:19 pmPerhaps like the RS3, one side open up to about 3k revs then both open. Yep - you can see this in action in some of the YouTube “exhaust noise” videos (46 year old man hangs head in shame) ......
