Need some advice please!

I’m tempted to upgrade my daily driver - B8 A4 2.0T Quattro.
I have been looking at the B9 S4, which has plenty of choice around the £40k mark. However, I’ve also seen that there appear to be numerous RS4’s that have been pre-registered and now up for sale on dealer’s websites. From reading this forum, it appears that some decent (7-10%?) discounts are already available on the RS4.
The S4 is definitely more than I need (I have a 991 GT3 for weekend fun), but I’m greedy, and the RS4 is obviously more special.
At £65k for the cheapest cars v £40k for the S4, the S4 wins, however if we expect more RS4s to be available then prices falling below £60k could be a reality in the not too distant future - what do people think?
I’d be happy with a fairly basic spec car.
Cheers,
Sidicks

Welcome to the fold - same Sidicks as back in the day on Tyresmoke?
B9 S4 (Avant) would get my vote - Lots of March + April 2017 dealer demo cars on Audi Approved from around 35k, sub 12 months old, a lot of car for the money
What year and spec is the B8 A4 2.0T Quattro? Scotty on Tyresmoke (and here) loves his! I've got a B5 2.8 q Avant as a daily slag, awesome in the snow!

I think the RS is always going to be 25k more like for like - depends how much the extra edge is worth to you.

Yes, the same one from Tyresmoke!
The B8 is a 2.0T Quattro (Black Edition) with 73k Miles (61 plate) - I’ve owned it for 3 years but fancy a change.
I got rid of my B5 A4 2.8 q Avant to but the current one!

I've driven the S4 for a short while (give or take 5 months) to bridge between the GT-R and the RS4. And being able to choose between the two I'd aways take the RS4 if money isn't an issue. It provides "more" car in every aspect plus its about tripple the fun in my opinion!
Cheers

Drive the deal are giving 18% on an S4 Avant, not sure how that compares?
They quoted a price of £38,995 in an email I got earlier today.

I’m now looking at a B8 RS4, but no-one on the B8 forum seems to know the car.

Scrub that, just seen your pics over on PH
Love the look of the all silver V-Spoke wheels, they look much better like that
