How many RS4's do Audi expect to sell?

Does anyone know how many RS4s Audi actually sell? or if they have any sales targets?
They take them out of production years before the replacement is ready.
It seems like they are viewed as a Halo car and they don't expect to sell many.

With the way they are priced now and with little incentive they’ll struggle. They will sit there like the rs5’s are doing, But there’s always someone who will get into one just because of the fact they want a new car and because the money isn’t an issue. More money than sense, I’d get into an rs6 PE for that money or pick up a manual v8/v10 R8.

Yes Audi will sell some but not many. Do you think Audi are content with that?

They normally only take them out of production when the A4 production ceases to make way for the new model as they share many parts. The problem is that it takes them so long to introduce the new version.

According to my contact at Audi, the new RS4 is selling better than the B8 did initially. I'd imagine largely that's due to all the positive press it's been getting and the fact it's returning to a Turbocharged engine (Although I really quite like the 4.2ltr V8)

Guys, does the RS4 get any facelift tweaks as and when they update the A4? I'm hearing the A4 will be getting a touch screen next year and then there's the A4 facelift coming in 2019, maybe?

Thanks.
It appears Audi do want to sell RS4's, not sure why I thought it could have been otherwise now.

I'm hoping you can still use the MMI buttons to drive it. Have the same with my laptop, have stopped using it via the screen as got fed up keeping it clean.

VAG car screens aren't 'glossy' so the finger marks hardly show. The touchscreen in our nursery/shopping Golf gets cleaned maximum once every 6 months or so when I give the inside a quick vacuum and dust, there's no need to clean it as it doesn't show anything due to its matte finish.
Speaking personally I wouldn't buy a new car now unless it had touchscreen ability. MMI usage is very time consuming and clunky. Once you've used a touchscreen on a regular basis it makes using a 'knob' feel very antiquated. The Golf's system (and even the system in my Range Rover) is in reality still quite rudimental, however they are both leagues ahead of using a MMI knob.

By contrast I can say my BMW has a touchscreen and I never never use it.

I think a touchscreen is of limited value in a vehicle particularly for the driver when your moving. I suppose it depends on how easy the system is to use via it's controller.

Not a major issue in the grand scale of things but my biggest annoyance is the lack of a skip forward/back button for media on the steering wheel. You have to go into the media menu using the scroll button and scroll down to the next track.
My wife’s tiguan has it and is useful especially if you have kids!

You use the volume knob on the centre console to skip back and forth. Jog it left or right.

Yep agree, but would have been good to have the ability to do that without taking hands off the wheel
