cost of production obviously doesn't come into it. Just look at the speed limit increase to 174mph. That costs them nothing to produce, NOTHING and they're charging about £1,500
I was also told that it only restricts in top gear so you can go past in a lower one...
Whilst I'm not sure of ratios in the B9 as it has 8 gears, my B8 won't go past around 150 in 6th as it runs out of revs and needs the last gear.
Mine doesn't have the speed restrictor removed, yet doesn't hit the soft limiter until an indicated 173mph, which is a GPS 164. In reality, although it hits the limiter there, it's not got many more MPH in it anyway. We did repeated runs at a Vmax event, and that was the same result each time
Really? The 7 speed S stronic B8 S4 changes from 6th to 7th at 299/300 kph ish. And that 3.0 engine revs lower than your 4.2? That would mean the final drive on the RS would be miles shorter?

You sure yours doesn't go from 5th to 6th at 150 mph Graeme? On a private test track obviously.... :bigblink:

I've just watched back the Vmax footage I got on my go-pro, and it changes up from 6th to 7th around 155, and that's near the rev limiter

I don't want to hijack the thread but...

I posted on the B9 S4 board but only had one reply there (thanks 535dboy). I'm thinking of selling my B7 RS4 and moving to a B9 S4. I'll need a set of winter wheels for it. Genuine wheels seem a bit steep, but something like Ispiri seems to be much more reasonable. What are the thoughts on none Audi wheels in terms of quality and any warranty issues you may run into with Audi?

Yeah I like them. Would look very smart on the RS4
BMW 540i
2018 GTR
F90 M5
X3MC
RS3 Saloon
RS7 FL best car I've owned. No faith in turbo oil screen (turbos failing) or sticking oil scraper ring causing missfires.
F10 M5 LCI still no rear grip lol
S7 black Edition Too big and heavy
S3 8V FL DSG 310ps, road noise is a joke
RS3 8P Rubbish
C7 RS6 Fantastic car but missed playing
GTR R35 800bhp, too extreme, crazy fast though
911 Turbo Remapped. Hated it
F10 M5, awesome but no rear grip
RS6 V10 700BHP crazy
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S 600bhp

I paint the existing wheels black on mine and added 15mm Spacers to front and 20mm to the back (H&R). if you're more conservative you could go 10mm front and 15mm back. It makes the arches look loads better and is a super cheap modification.

One tip to mention, there is a screw holding the liner in place at about 1 o'clock as you look at the drivers side wheel (RHD) and these are real belt and braces. You don't need them, they are only on the front, and they cause rubbing against the tyre that is otherwise not apparent when you remove the clip.

My B7 and C7 were exactly the same. Once lowered the clips / screws had to come out. Pretty much holding the top of the wheel arch liner to the wheel arch except it manages fine without it.

"Fender arch screw mod" is very common on lowered VAG's. Removed it on my Golf R and ran it for 25000 hard miles and never had any issues, as you say, it is belt and braces.

Could you post the part numbers for the H&R spacers you used as I am very interested in getting some myself.

Normal aftermarket wheels are boring, it's the 34" Chrome ones you want to be considering :bigblink:
