Tyre pressure monitoring display

Post by rjwojcik » Mon Jan 22, 2018 12:18 am

Guys

What do you get if you don't tick this? Do you still get a warning if you loose pressure?

TPMS is a legal requirement now. I believe the B9 A4 has indirect monitoring ie uses ABS sensors to detect the rotational speed of each wheel and uses this to warn of a low pressure. If the RS4 has an option with actual tyre pressures and temperatures then it looks like the option is for direct type of tpms with actual pressure sensors like previous models.

When ordering I asked the same question and yes you still get a warning when it falls below a certain pressure but not a constant monitoring.

Thanks guys. I just wish the sales reps were passionate about their offerings and a bit more knowledgeable, yet to find one I've been completely satisfied with. Most seem happy to go through the motions, refer to the brochures and take their monthly pay packets. FFS - I can read a brochure.

I think features like this should be standard and not an optional extra.

My sales rep also seemed to think you get a button inside the car to make the exhaust louder, "'cause the R8 has it". When I asked him to show me while we were sitting in the cabin we couldn't find it, so he changed his mind and said it must be available on the R8 only. This was in a car with the optional sports exhaust. Grrrrrr

I did a bit of research on the internet and this point is correct. All vehicles sold in EU after 1 Nov 2014 must be fitted with a system to alert drivers of low air pressure.

The normal low pressure alert system is fitted as standard. Tick the £250 TPM display option and you will gain temp and pressure read out in the virtual cockpit display.

Clicking on the (i) button next to the option, tells you that info within the configurator.
