Hi there folks.

I have just finished a detailed video on the brand new RS4 Avant, as I had it a few days for a photo and videoshoot and drove almost 1000km through the Alps. As a RS4 B5 owner, and also a lot of time behind the wheel of both B7 and B8 RS4, I must say I'm very happy and pleased how good the new RS4 is. First of all, it looks absolutely great, and I think it's one of the best looking Audis in the current lineup. All the small details and edges really please my eye. Also, the mix with the Sonoma Green and the black optics, is unique and looks darn well if you ask me. Then, the driving. I have to say I really like how the new V6BiTurbo performs. To me, it fits the car much better than that heavy V8. It's lighter, more athletic, dances around more and is more tailhappy. And about the noise? I dont' mind it. To me, it sounds very good. It's not a V8 growl, but as I said, to me an RS4 should be V6 BiTurbo like the RS4 B5. It just feels right. If you want little more sound, put another exhaust. Overall, I'm very happy Audi went back to their roots. It's one heck of a car!

1. the farts on upshifts - I'm not keen.
2. this video demonstrates the reason I wont buy these cars as ex demo/ex press cars...you're not doing anything wrong on it, but I'd imagine this is the way every reviewer treats these - it's a hard life in the first 2k miles...

The problem for me is they do sound like farts to my ear. Probably better than nothing though but couldn't Audi have got a pop or a bang.

I agree....listen to the RS3 - sounds amazing!
