I popped into Edinburgh Audi at Sighthill today on the off-chance they had one in.

This was after registering last night for a test drive. The called me back promptly this morning but said they didn’t have one in yet :audibash:

The guy on the call was not clued up, hence why I thought I would pop in regardless.

Daytona grey. As per above comments, wheels looked good although slightly surprised to see it wearing Hankook tyres.

Being 100% honest, it did not wow me. Yes it is very vey nice, but the arches are really subtle. Maybe they would be more accentuated in a different Color, but it was the same with the new RS5 too.

I just don’t think it’s worth £70k+ or the best part of £1k a month to me.

I popped into Perth Aui today for a look at theirs. Really liked to look of it but i'll be waiting on discounts before i make the jump.
Definitely, my spec is coming in at £71k, obscene for a small estate. Won't stop me having a gander tomorrow.

I went into Great west road yesterday to see it, the car they have is just over £80k. I’d have to wait 4 months before Audi exclusive kicks in he said and as extended leather to the dash and tops of doors is not an option I imagine the price via exclusive will be toppy.

I’ll drive it to see but on looks+ spec @ that price I wouldn’t be paying that much for one. I see the green and blue on an RS5 in there and as much as I like green I think you have to be very brave financially.

Think you’d get a few % if you asked just now...

One thing is though...discounts are what is killing residuals on theses type of cars. Part to do with Audi pricing, but calling something £65k then selling it for £58k makes little sense.

On a cold wet Sunday morning I took the B9 out for a test drive.
The new dash looks modern and I know some people don’t like the screen protruding from the dash but when you’re driving it’s insignificant. I don’t mind it.
Seats feel more comfortable than the B8 and the wheel feels slightly thinner which I liked. The new controls and gear lever are nicer and it’s all pretty intuitive to use.
This had the HUD and it’s excellent.
Ok the noise is not as good as the V8 but it bloody goes so well. It (to me) is so much better to drive than the B8.
I had it in full dynamic to start with. The whole car felt extremely planted at all times and considering the wet / cold roads it wasn’t flighty at all and instils confidence. Power comes on instantly. My friend who was sat in the back couldn’t believe how well it gripped coming fast out of roundabouts.
He said it unnerved him the speed I was going in those conditions! He has an AMG GTs amongst other things and bought my B8 from me so knows performance cars........
Dropped it into comfort on way back to dealers and it is a nice easy cruiser.
It was in Sonoma green with aluminium optics and light grey interior and it looked awful. Needs black optics in that colour but I still wouldn’t have the green nor the light interior.
Am awaiting confirmation about this cars spec. Want to know what suspension, steering and exhaust it has.
As an all round package it will take some beating. I thought the B8 was excellent but this is better.
Am I going to order one? Well my ultimate spec is £78k. Is it worth that? I’m undecided.
BUT....do I want one....HELL YES!!!!

I don't think you will get massive discounts a couple of grand on a 70K car Jardine motors are doing a dealer contribution...

I'm sure in a few months we will start seeing better discounts. Those buying now at full / near to full price will suffer with low secondhand prices when they come to sell as the values will be based on the discounted cars that follow.

Had a nosey around today at my local stealers,

Initial impressions were good, very imposing in the flesh. Alloys much better that they look in pictures.

Only issues for my was getting the seating position right, felt too propped up in the seat and not special enough inside.

Audi sport puddle lights impressed though, love a gimmick me.

Was offered £3K off a Macan turbo with performance pack just before Christmas and I hadn't even started to ask about discounts.

Pretty sure you are right. That is what happens when you are an early adopter as well as having to deal with all the teething issues

Not bad! I only managed to negotiate discount on paint protection and gap (c. 1.5% of total cost) on a turbo pp built to order.

I need to take you with me next time i go looking! Ha

I think you just need to be in the right place at the right time...They had a physical car and wanted it gone in 2017 it was also a massive spec. I was looking at already built RS6's a couple of months ago but couldn't get anywhere near the discounts that some people said could be had, then this weekend looking at a couple of posts on here it looks like there are a couple of C7 PE's available at similar money to a new B9.

If you want the new model I doubt you’d be concerned about what it’s going to be worth when you sell it.
If you’re going to drop circa £75K on a car I doubt you’d be worried about a few grand less come resale time.
The only people who bang on about this are the ones who have no intention of ordering. ( not alluding to you Mike )
It’s a great car but I’ve not decided yet but if I do it’ll be about the car not what it’s worth in a couple of years.
