I noticed earlier the Carbon edition comes pre-configured with "matt aluminium" and you cant remove it. I am told this is actually grey plastic!
I don't know if that's true but on the configurator it looks exactly the same as plain aluminium Maybe it looks good when seen in the metal?
I have not heard of any true carbon editions available for viewing at present time.

There doesn't appear to be any great saving in buying the options in a "carbon edition" rather than up specing a base edition.
Other than the wheels which I imagine will be 2 or 3 thousand from the parts department.
Current : 2018 F5 RS5 (Let's Fire Up the Quattro)
Gone : 2017 M3 CP
Gone : 2007 B7 RS4 ( :kissmyrings: )

To clear up the confusion:

The 'Carbon Edition' comes as standard with the optional "Carbon Matt Aluminium Styling Pack" (PQB), this normally costs £4450 on the regular RS4. It cannot be swapped out or changed on the CE.

The 'Carbon Matt Aluminium Styling Pack' consists of: Carbon Front spoiler, carbon sill extension inserts and carbon diffuser insert. Matt aluminium radiator grille, Matt aluminium windows and Matt aluminium horizontal bar in the rear diffuser.

I picked up Audi Swindon's demo car this morning, and I have it for a few days whilst mine's in getting the DRC fixed
I've only done about 50 miles in it so far, but initial impressions are that it's bloody good.
Even with the sports exhaust that the demo has, it doesn't sound as loud as my B8 with the Sports exhaust, but it's a nice noise.
It certainly a lot faster than the B8 too, and there's no need to be hunting down 3 gears when you need to overtake as the torque is available nice and low with the FI engine.
Seems to have a more neutral balance than the B8 too, and is less prone to understeering straight on. after the sharp initial turn in like the B7 and B8 did.
This car has the Dymanic suspension upgrade, but I'd be interested to hear how the ride is on the standard suspension set up if anyone tries one ?

So far so good, and I think if it continues to grow on me like it has currently, I'll be placing my order this week when I drop it back.
I was set on a Carbon edition, but found out today that you can't delete the silver details on it, so I'll be going for Non carbon edition with black styling pack and a few options to bring the car more inline with that spec.Screen Shot 2018-02-06 at 15.13.59.png
Thanks for your thoughts I will be interested in your thoughts after a couple of days. I know someone who had one for a few days as well as an RS5 for a while and I got the impression that it gets better the longer you have the car.

I went to Birmingham Audi today. The Showroom is full of RS’s from 3’s,4’s,5’s. All beautiful cars but none of the RS’s did anything for me anymore. They all to alike their S-line siblings. But this BEAST caught my eye so I’m having a chat about it. Even little Miss likes it.
