I picked up Audi Swindon's demo car this morning, and I have it for a few days whilst mine's in getting the DRC fixed
I've only done about 50 miles in it so far, but initial impressions are that it's bloody good.
Even with the sports exhaust that the demo has, it doesn't sound as loud as my B8 with the Sports exhaust, but it's a nice noise.
It certainly a lot faster than the B8 too, and there's no need to be hunting down 3 gears when you need to overtake as the torque is available nice and low with the FI engine.
Seems to have a more neutral balance than the B8 too, and is less prone to understeering straight on. after the sharp initial turn in like the B7 and B8 did.
This car has the Dymanic suspension upgrade, but I'd be interested to hear how the ride is on the standard suspension set up if anyone tries one ?

So far so good, and I think if it continues to grow on me like it has currently, I'll be placing my order this week when I drop it back.
I was set on a Carbon edition, but found out today that you can't delete the silver details on it, so I'll be going for Non carbon edition with black styling pack and a few options to bring the car more inline with that spec.Screen Shot 2018-02-06 at 15.13.59.png
Thanks for your thoughts I will be interested in your thoughts after a couple of days. I know someone who had one for a few days as well as an RS5 for a while and I got the impression that it gets better the longer you have the car.
Its very impressive, and the RS5 I drove a couple of months back was only ok.
I'm sold and order will go in later this week

I have just realised the car they show in that stupid advert, is a car that we can't actually have!

that is it has
1) the 20“ x 9.0J '5-arm peak' design alloy wheels (that I want) that are only available on the "carbon edition"
together with
2) the carbon black trim which you can't have on the "carbon edition"

kind of false advertising :assflash:

this is a screenshot so someone can tell me I have got it wrong

They are, the 'Carbon Edition' spec is UK only. In other EU countries it's a normal RS4 only and you can spec the CE wheels for €3k.

i remember early sales of the B8 the sports pack only had Rotor alloys the V spokes were 2k above that package price
then the offered them in the pack so you choose v spoke or rotor
i hope they do the same with the B9 regarding the Milled alloys and the carbon pack but time will tell

2007 B7 RS4 Avant Sprint Blue

Yeah, I remember that
Personally, I pref the look of the non Carbon edition 20" black wheels, but I'm sure the weight saving of the Milled wheels will attract a fair few

And for the first time in a while I like the all silver look again as per your loaner (I think) but the same as the one in Audi picadilly.

There is going to be an 'Audi Sport' package launched a few months into the lifecycle, it's already being listed (without specific details) by some of the brokers, however I personally don't expect to see the milled alloys on anything but the CE, unless they drop the CE compeltely.
