Re: reviews of a B9
I actually quite liked that he referred to the RS in the context of an everyday car, whereas most journo reviews seems to focus on how much you can drift it, or whether it's the fastest in it's segment - Hence why the BMW and AMG always seem to trump itSurrey Sam wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2018 12:25 amYes.
Wolverine certainly is one of the better reviewers out there. I did feel that this one was a little generic towards RS products and their market position. Enjoyable, but not his best effort.
For me, the RS4 is the perfect car to drive everyday, in everyday situations, and still be able to occasionally nail it and enjoy regardless of conditions

Well said. It's like comparing an Exige and Cayman GT4, and saying the Porsche wins because it has more boot space and the Exige is more impractical. You are never going to have an Exige as your only car!graeme4130 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2018 12:23 pmI actually quite liked that he referred to the RS in the context of an everyday car, whereas most journo reviews seems to focus on how much you can drift it, or whether it's the fastest in it's segment - Hence why the BMW and AMG always seem to trump itSurrey Sam wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2018 12:25 amYes.

Not sure how long the Porsche is here to stay. We will have had it 6 years this may and Mrs is using it less and using the leaf more because of dog etc
Thinking of chucking leaf and Porsche in for Jag iPace later in the year - maybe have one more summer in the Porsche.

The 981 certainly has presence when it came out along with the new 911 (991). Yours a manual? Very nice cars!535dboy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2018 2:30 pmNot sure how long the Porsche is here to stay. Re: reviews of a B9
Seems to me from reviews that it is a very good car. I'm yet to be fully convinced on the looks, but haven't seen one in the flesh yet. It's biggest problem is the price.
Re: reviews of a B9
This is my issue.
I see some pics and think I like it and wonder if I made a mistake but then I look at the price.
My new car was £69k spec but I knocked them down to £59k.
Like for like spec the RS4 would be £77k before discount
Both four wheel drive and TT v6s. Mine slightly down on power but that is about to be sorted with Brabus remap
So for a lot less money I’ve got similar car but next size segment up and probably more comfortable overall if slightly less chuckable but then I have other things to chuck around if I’m in that type of mood.

Re: reviews of a B9
Indeed - and from what I recall this is the opposite to the B8 where the non-Drc set up was nice and compliant. Im sure Graeme on here posted about this after driving both cars (Drc and non-Drc)Surrey Sam wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 2:08 pmSome interesting comments regarding the standard non DRC suspension.
The launch looks like it was based out of Chicheley Hall which I recognise having been there, and the villages of Harrold and Sharnbrook are just north west of me in Bedford, and I think the low railway bridge they show about four camera shots bombing under is between Sharnbrook and the A6. Some of those 'minor' roads have been resurfaced recently, but lots of them off the main A roads (A422, A428, A6, A509) are very bumpy!

Re: reviews of a B9
Thanks for posting this, I wouldn't have seen it otherwise, I don't subscribe to STG as I don't regard him as either a decent car reviewer or entertainingSurrey Sam wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 2:08 pmSome interesting comments regarding the standard non DRC suspension.
Would be more interesting to hear what the Press Association guy thought as he had the good sense to try out another car with DRC.
The other reviews I have seen all had DRC and reviewers comment on how they set it to comfort.
Another controversial thing is the dynamic steering which seems to receive slightly negatively comments.
Seems preferred spec is to have DRC but not dynamic steering, think they are separate options.
