Re: GFV's announced - Nov 2017
Nice one. Ties in with the lease deals out there. About 40k cost in 3 years.

Are those percentages fairly typical for the RS range, and are audi GFV's far off reality?

Re: GFV's announced - Nov 2017
That's a higher loss than previous models.
You will find with all pcps now that you will rarely get offered much if anything more than the GFV. You'll maybe make a couple of grand if you sell privately.
That's what is stinging people. They are used to the days when the dealer would phone them up 2 years into a 3 year deal and say you have equity and we can put you in a better car for the same money. Or they get to the end and have a good chunk as a deposit for the next one. Not so much anymore.

Re: GFV's announced - Nov 2017
So presumably doing this you loose your deposit and have nothing to roll in to the new one as they will only offer enough to cover the finance balloon ?

Re: GFV's announced - Nov 2017
That is the trend lately. They used to leave a bit of wiggle room but not so much anymore. A lot of diesels lately are worth less than their GFVs because of diesel gate535dboy wrote:So presumably doing this you loose your deposit and have nothing to roll in to the new one as they will only offer enough to cover the finance balloon ?

Re: GFV's announced - Nov 2017
Why is the potential resale so poor in this model? because its a lot more full priced than the b8?

My Leafs are on PCPs as I look at them as disposable carsDeanoC wrote: ↑Sat Nov 18, 2017 9:25 pmThat is the trend lately. They used to leave a bit of wiggle room but not so much anymore. The last one Was a £30k car which I secured lots of discounts on from dealer and manufacturer
I put £500 down and paid £150/mth over 2 years.
I think the balloon was £14k.
Part ex value was £8k!!
Clearly I walked away and bought a new one under a new contract but then i only lost £500 of deposit, the other payments effectively being a rental

Re: GFV's announced - Nov 2017
I count all of my cars in the same way. mostly as i change so frequently, so no point in sinking a ton of money in to a depreciating asset.
I really just look at it like a rental or like i'm paying the depreciation...comes to roughly the same. worth noting the impact of interest here though.
Right now, I'm enjoying having no car payment still deciding on the next "purchase" but it won't be one of these...
