I find that pictures never do these cars justice. 0-60 improvement is quite phenomenal!

As others predicted, prob £74k car, add the likely sports pack, one or two 'must have' options that people inecsplicably say are essential and the car will easily be a £80k car. Definitely puts it out of my price range as it goes to 911 ish and rrs territory at moment!

"Options include a dynamic ride control system with adaptive damping, RS-specific steering........"

Really? You buy an RS and have to pay extra to actually make it an RS ?!?!?!

THAT S**T SHOULD BE STANDARD!

Retards.

Finally!!!!!

Not much of a 0-60 improvement really, 4.7 from the factory without using LC (4.5 with LC), I'd like to have seen 4.0 or less. Looks good so far though, glad to see the rear arches are flared, something between the B8.5 and the RS6. I had a B9 courtesy car recently and the build quality is improved again, not that the B8.5 is bad at all.

Can you imagine what power we'll see when tuners start mapping these motors, easy stage 1 would give you 500+ if you want to go that route something not really available to B7 and B8.5 owners.

0-60 is now said to 4.1 vs. 4.7 on the outgoing B8?

RS5 is 0.2 seconds faster at 3.9 - guess its lighter though

Think it looks good - but I think changing to an RS6 performance now which is basically the same cost as this (with discount and contribution) is the right answer for me

I've driven the new RS5 and the B9 S4 and both are lovely inside and the tech is really good. May come back to this RS4 once i've got the RS6 out of my system and maybe when the deals and discounts and extra packages thrown in start to appear on the RS4 in 3 or 4 years time.

Tiptronic box. Not for me thanks.

If the options are the same price as the RS5, then this will easy be a £75-80k car once you've added Sports Exhaust, DRC, Bigger Wheels, Styling pack, stereo, roof etc. Not for me thanks.

Poor show, IMO, from Audi, but I'm sure it'll sell by the bucket load.

Its the gearbox that puts me in doubt too, ZF unit similar to the current RS6 box, so no launch control.

An S-tronic box was in development for the B9 RS4/5 program with Graziano Trasmissioni (R8 S-tronic), but I'm not sure what happened to that, I'll find out Wednesday night over a curry lol

My understanding it was canned in this level due to the cost of each box. The development went through, but the box is now only available in VAG high premium/margin cars such as Porsche PDK etc.

I'll see if I can find out this week the exact details as having a curry with the Managing Director of UK operations for Graziano.

I don't dislike it, but I'm not sure i like it as much as previous versions...

Also, agree on the price, but think Audi will be looking at these as a car on finance aiming to get people on a payment of c.£800 in line with the other cars in this segment.

I wouldn't look at one until the "packs" are available as that helps reduce the outlay, and covers the essential options...

Think I'll keep saving for an R8/911/540c...

Warming to it, but they have forgotten how to design wheels.

I like it too. Not as in your face as the RS5.
