The majority will be sold on PCP, car manufacturers are getting wise that owning a car is becoming less popular, and allows them to push the price up. I guess base spec b8 was around 60k, so a 10k hike in 4 years model change for something that probably cost the same to produce seems steep!

Nice looking car but £61k base and circa. £75K specced... f*** off! A £35k Golf R facelift/RS3 will give you as much fun...not as much kudos or sound...but on real world congested roads...I'm out. I am disappointed. My money is going off the mortgage...but I am getting old.

Could just be the exchange rate

Mid-2012, £1 = €1.25
Now £1 = €1.1

That would be a 14% increase in the cost of a Euro product, when measured in gbp

£55k x 1.14 = £63k

That's not considering inflation either.

Anyone know how the € launch prices of B8 and B9 compare?

Did a bit of digging

Found a 2005 article that mentions a €66k/£48k list price for the B7 (saloon)

If B8 list was £54k, that's about €64-67k at 2012 exchange rates (€1.2 - 1.25 per £)

So then, if B9 is £61k (per dealer email someone posted) that's €67k

So the list price has barely moved, in euro. Perhaps take the exact numbers above with a pinch of salt - but you get the general idea.

So you can hardly blame Audi. You can however blame this <beep> and those that voted in his favour:

Haha, that's me, I voted leave! But you can hardly blame me, I'd hazard a very educated guess that the £ -> € exchange wouldn't be much different if Average Britain won the 'remain' vote.
IMO if all you remoaners wanted to blame someone, I'd level my sniper rife sights squarely at that ham-faced crunt Douche Bag Cameron, for losing one of the easiest votes, ever! He couldn't convince the disenfranchised to vote remain, all because he couldn't be seen 'stooping' down a couple of classes by saying:
- You'll need a visa for trips to Magaloof
- Your awful tattoos in Magaloof will be more expensive
- Your fags will be more expensive
No matter where you go, there you are.

I'm a re-leaver....relieved we're orf out that nonsense club, because of Audi and alike having to make smaller engines with turbos and fake noise my RS4 is increasing in value as I thought it would....cheapest RS4 2 months ago was 32k now the cheapest is 39k and they're getting more scarce! don't trust me on this but it's what I thinks happening due to car searches!
