Good point, I had grabbed the first price i saw for the comp pack - BMW's mobile website is guff so gave up looking at that!RS4Owner wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2017 2:52 pmThe M3 base price is £64,225 and not £59K. Isn't the correct comparison the 450hp Comp Pack with DCTN13LXC wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2017 3:02 pmThe current m3 competition is £59500, without spec and a similar power figure as the rs4...that is a more relevant comparison...so a car platform that has been around for 3+ years is only c. £1.5k less than the yet to be available b9 rs4. I dont think the price is really that far out from where it should be.
I read RS4 base price is £61,625
An RS4 holds residual value better which should be factored in to cost of ownership.
RS4 looks better value than M3 which is NOT what I expected as I regard the RS4 as a more exclusive vehicle
Suppose what I was aiming to illustrate is, comparing an 85k base price car with a 61k car is pointless...once specced an M5 would likely be 100k, and RS6 PE without discount just now is coming in at close to that...a better approach for me would be honest pricing. get rid of discounts that we all have to fight for and price the car appropriately from the off...for a start, it would make residuals far easier to stomach!
