Honestly the DRC is a waste of money, I drove two RS5 one with one without and opted for one without.

The comfort setting is perfect, I can’t see the 4 being any different?
Am I being stupid, but isn't standard set up a one size fit all damper wise? Switching to comfort in cars without DRC just adjusts the throttle and gearbox? Are you saying you can adjust damper setting too in the 5?
I thought this too. Have they introduced variable damper settings on non DRC cars now?

Order placed this morning and included DRC.
Build slot is Week 17, so should get the car Mid May
Looking forward to it, and Spec is fixed as follows :

Nardo grey
Black/Anthracite 20" wheels
Sound and comfort pack
Black styling pack
sports exhaust
electric seats
Privacy glass
Dynamic Suspension
Congrats Graeme. Do you keep the B8 until the B9 is delivered?

Spoke with the Audi dealer today, and they'll install and warranty the ABT upgrade to 530bhp under the standard manufacturers 3year document
Waiting on an exact cost, but looks like I'll likely add that to my spec too :)

Is the Abt upgrade 530 or 510 bhp?

I bet it’s a telephone number.

It’ll be Audi UK’s decision I assume as they underwrite the warranty. Hope the dealer hasn’t spoken out of turn....

I’ve been speaking to Brabus about my car

Similar thing I should imagine

Brabus piggy back Merc warranty so if merc don’t pay out for engine/transmission problems then Brabus will
Currently :
Porsche 992S
Porsche Cayenne GTS
Porsche GT4 RS
Lotus Exige V6 ( tuned to c430bhp)
Seat Ibiza excellence Lux!
1987 Porsche 928S4
1967 Jaaag Mk2 3.4

Ex
2017 AMG E class wagon
2012 Audi RS4 (B8)
2012 Porsche Boxster S (981)

Congrats, exactly same predicament I had with b8/drc. I specced the car without it because of all the issues on c5 and b7 but ended up cheaper with the sport pack I think as wanted rotors and sports exhaust. I genuinely wish I hadn’t, nowt but issues with drc still- UK roads are largely to blame I think, but doesn’t help me. Had a standard spring loaner and it was perfect, before I order a b9 which is looking likely, I am deffo driving both as if I can avoid drc again I will. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on it though!

B8 was fine on non adjustable standard dampers but reports suggest otherwise in B9. Do drive them both. As for DRC issues, I had them on my C7 RS6 too but fixed under warranty with revised damper design and problem free since so hopeful that this even later generation will finally be perfect. If not, it is covered under warranty.

The DRC system is very good when it's working, but still just prone to failure. That being said, most B8's will still be in their warranty period and the other still well within the time scale where you can select and extended warranty, so it's not a big issue as you can just put the car into the dealer to rectify it.
The only issue I had with the non DRC B8 RS4 I tried is the suspension is good when you're pushing on, but too stiff for me for everyday use, and I've always driven my B8 on the Comfort Suspension mode

You’d have to check with an Audi tech but my car definitely feels harder and bouncier when in dynamic mode!

I have thought on a few occasions my car has DRC but the invoice says otherwise! Lol

The warranty repair of drc is great, had the c5 and b8 done twice- it’s just the hassle of being without the car, trips to dealer and ultimately always having at the back of your mind it could fail again for me. It is great when it works though, however dynamic makes the car undrivable at motorway speeds which is what I thought it was supposed to be for!

The dynamic setting is supposed to be for the track, but even then, it's just too hard and lose any adjustability in the cars pitch.
I'm not sure who signed it off as ok as it's a bit pants
