Yes you are right, I was thinking of the B8.5 S4.

But the point still stands that nearly all RS models make an appearance before face-lift

Mike, the B7 is the facelift of the B6 don't forget! :biggrin3:

All three generations of RS4 so far have been facelift versions.

Spoke to a chap this lunchtime who's from Audi UK in a senior position, he was visiting the London City showcase branch for the day. Without prompting or telling him what my dealer told me, he said to me exactly the same info as in my earlier post which ties into my dealer's info.

I'm now 99.9% sure this info is accurate.

Like Dave Says - Audi UK are one of the last ones to know as they're just a sales arm despite what they like to believe

With the recent suspension of Audi's research & development boss and the emission scandal costs now escalating. The new RS4, potentially could miss the mark completely and be flawed from the get go.

Yep, focus has to be on lower costs and shifting more volume to fix the books.

The S4 has only been driven by journos and has only just hit the config (God knows when customer cars will arrive) The B5 took 5.5 years to arrive, the B7 5 years, the B8 4.5 years - the B9 isn't suddenly going to materialise in 2 years
You say that, but the RS5 has now been spotted testing in undisguised mule form...

Couple this with the reports that Audi are planning on bringing it out much earlier in the cycle, I think the timeframes are a real possibility. I'd also add that my dealer is the same one that gave me all the SQ7 info that people on here dismissed, but it all ended up to be true.
The offset on those wheels is horrid. Let's hope that's not production spec.

I was chatting to a bloke on the tube today. His mates sisters friend is married to a guy who knows someone that works for Stoke Audi (I think he washes the used cars on the forecourt). Anyway, someone went there last week for a new wiper blade for his A80 (offside I think) and he said that he was chatting to someone who knows this guy who works in the R&D team in Skoda that was in Milton Keynes last week for VAG meeting. His sister, well she's married to a chap at Audi in Germany who was clearing up in the factory canteen the other. He overheard someone saying that the B9 is definitely going to go a bit faster than the B8 RS4.

So it must be true.
