I'm perhaps hoping objectively based on having bought an Rs4, but I can't see them coming down as far as the Rs5 as that car is performing shockingly in terms of sales, whereas the Rs4 seems to be doing really well

Advert says 20” - do they have the sizes wrong?

I’m going to ask for an extended test drive again, I think half day was the offer.

I haven’t driven the new RS4 yet(actually nor the B8 as I moved away from wanting auto-possible mistake)so I can’t answer this question. The guys that have ordered or had delivery of the new B9 Rs4 for their outgoing RS4, would the drive/performance/look/warranty of the new car be worth £35/40k over your outgoing car if the only way of changing was to pay the difference with cash you have(no finance)?

This is a useful app, what is it?

Also, watching this thread in earnest guys, I'm having to wait for discounts on the RS4's to come down to similar levels to the RS5's (circa £10k?).

Enjoy your cars guys :thumb:
It's not an app, that is www.wheel-size.com

For the new RS4:

I think this depends on your personal outlook, I budget X amount a month for my car and I change it every three years or so and don't expect to see anything back and when I do, however this time I did and it was an added bonus. I suppose I could have paid the whole lot and had the money tied up in the car but I want that for other projects so it is really difficult to say yes or no, however the step up in the car is on a different level so like you say do an extended test drive and maybe try and drive a 2015 B8 as well and see if you think it is worth it.

You’re right, it is about personal circumstances but I just wondered if the payment method is a factor in how good one perceives the car to be.

In the past I used to finance Cars as I was trading and looked to make more on my money than the apr but now it’s more likely I’ll have to pay for them outright. I was younger though and used to love having a new car each year and having the latest and greatest, I made some poor choices through not having extended test drives though.

As said I should try a late B8 aswell as a decent RS6.

If I had a B8, I think I would not go for the B9. Probably, if I had a B7 or B5, but not B8.
On the other hand, waiting for the next model could take 8 years, so I would look for a used RS6 (with time).

I had the same dilemma with the RS3, owned the pre face-lift and couldn't see enough difference to warrant £25k spend to get the new one.

I think many of the people on here will have gone from a B8 to a B9. I agree with what you're saying about not wanting to swap from a similar car in the case of the B7-B8, but the B9 is a very different car to the B8 in quite a few ways

Next model will be a hybrid.
B9 very different to B8 - much better imo, which I is why I have part exed my C7 RS6 for one. I originally wanted a 4 sized car but found the B8 didn’t light my fire - particularly the ride - so went for a 6. The B9 is my perfect car - like a more modern smaller C7. I change my cars regularly but have ordered this one with 5 year extended warranty as I have a feeling it is going to be a keeper.

Good to hear! I’m waiting for it till next month. 5 months...
I really love it, just tried one 10min but I thought that maybe B8 users look for more output power.

Guess what's turned up at the dealer this week.
Got the number plate now, and collect Friday afternoon
Has anyone else's insurance company's insisted on installing a tracker ?
