Grrrrr, you could have warned us it was that fecking Shmeee again!

I do like that alfa and was considering waiting for it or maybe trying to angle it as a comoany car. But that video says the RHD version will not come with a manual box! And I was expecting it to sound much better. Bit too low for an alfa exhaust if you ask me.

I agree for all the reasons stated and wouldn't choose one but still think is a great looking motor... also think sounds pretty good for a 6

I had an Alfa 156gta for about 8 years. Great car but as stated above it was plagued by the age old electrical issues. And although the modern alfas do not suffer from rust anymore (allegedly) there was a particularly issue with the wider front gta wings that would bubble and rust. Mine started by its 3rd birthday. And alfa tried to wriggle out of many claims because the customers didn't ask for a body work check when the cars were in for the annual service and therefore the stamp was missong from there annual corrosion check invalidating the corrosion warranty. The garage I took it too said the paint thickness on the wings was different to the rest of the car so I must have had it resprayed so not covered even though it hadnt and the paint thickness difference was the same on all gtas.
I'd still buy another one though.

I owned a MKV R32, great sounding engine across the entire range. Even better once I'd removed the exhaust flap valve. The only downside was single figure MPG around town due to wanting to hear that intoxicating noise all the time.

I didn't realise the stock exhaust on an R32 sounded that good! Might have to upgrade the Golf GTi second car to an R32

Good review - That was the video I was waiting for before resorting to Shmee...

I've had two Alfa's in late '90's - the first was a 145 1.6 Boxer - the engine ate itself. The second was a 145 Cloverleaf which got totalled when some idiot overshot a B to A road junction in front of me. Still like Alfas despite all their issues though.

I've never owned one, but would like to tick the box. But as G states, historic issues have been one of the mitigating factors why I wouldn't.... It would seem that Alfa have chucked a lot at this and state it is the start of new beginnings... Come on G, give them a break and at least wait to see if the Italian leppard has changed the print on their Loubs....
