Squeaky Steering

Post by BasherZA » Mon Apr 07, 2025 12:40 pm

Hi all, I've recently traded in my 718 GT4 for a 2025 RS4 Competition Plus, and thus far everything has been amazing with exception of one niggle, being a squeaky steering between 11/12 and 12/1 on the steering.

This sounds almost like a bird chirping. Have any of you experienced something of the sort and what do I need to tell the service technician to pay specific attention to?

I'm guessing the squeak is metalic as opposed to plastic in which case there are two universal joints on the steering column, one at the back of the steering column mount to the dash and the other just before the column passes through the engine bulkhead. I would possibly start there.

I've had this too but it's very rare so I haven't been able to diagnose it.
