No option to turn off lane assist

Post by gc101 » Sat Nov 11, 2023 9:32 am

Hi,

Yesterday I put down a deposit on a 2022 plate rs4. After I ask the sales guy how to switch off the lane assist as I hate them generally. He couldn’t find a way - there was no option in the menus and there was no button on the end of the indicator stall.

It looks to me that it’s standard:

If this is the case and urs on permanently then I might try and get my deposit back and I find where I live they simply don’t work and I hate them pulling the car all over the place .

I know after 2022 these sort of options had to be standard due to EU law but thought it’s was new models rather than existing .

Anyone with a 22/23 year car on here can confirm?
Thanks

I agree it’s a problem if you can’t turn it off - I can’t stand it either.
The only good thing is mine has traffic jam assist which steers itself with stop and go. All good fun

You may be able to turn it off using VCDS, but I don't know what other functions you might loose when you do, as most modules seem to be multi-function nowadays

You can turn it off, I did that on mine, it arrived in October 2023.
Easily in the menu, somewhere in the settings.
And I ordered it without any driver aids as I also hate them, but lane assist is a mandatory option for MY2024 which mine already is.

Ah that’s great to know thanks . Where in the menu do you turn it off? I presume it resets when you restart the car?

Car\Driver assist menu in MMI as far as I remember.
And it is switched off permanently.
At least in my version of the car, as I said, maybe it differs from market to market, equipment to equipment, MY to MY…
